Piety has flat out more survivability but marty i feel like is also always underestimated survivability wise. Sure you're low hp, but getting through to your hp is a task and a half with stuff like restorative verses + EWEW alone

idm the survivability aspect of Marty, i'm decent there. Just wondering what build outputs the most damage. + things like DR triggers to consider. Moving away from Piety means your Enduring Faith triggers less. Maybe that doesn't matter that much though

Sure, it has more utility since it allows you to chew through carapace and gives you insane damage reduction uptime, but pure dps? Marty always wins. It's basically buffed IJ with perma uptime, as if IJ wasn't good enough

Same as i sent earlier. Wrath + Rampage blessings Flak + Elite perks.
It is good to note that mk3 evisc has more utility with perfect strike + piety and more survivability at that (very good finesse weapon) though you will of course be doing objectively more dps with this, it's marty.

The weird combo lag you experience when doing a standard H1 L2 combo isn't there when you do H1 L2 block cancel as an example. It's notably faster. The PA ends up costing damage over time because you need to use the push to enter the PA, it disrupts the combo more than just a plain ol' H1.

combo lag on H1 L2? i don't really know what you mean, H1 can cause combo lag when improperly used however in that specific chain it won't happen, and tbh using special mid combo is something i would never do, since perfect strike/wrath does the job for you, so you can focus on continuing combo chain instead. i'll try it in the psykhanium out of curiosity regardless, but i believe willow wisp's guide is the most sound for evisc mk3

There's some nuance but it's like a pick your own adventure game where each state has available moves and each move ends up in a specific state.
The combo lag I'm referring to is how the H1 is used in combos. L2 takes longer to startup H1 than to just reset the combo with a block and use H1 from a fresh combo state, hence the term "block cancel". The specifics are that the chain timing from L2 -> H1 is 0.71 + 0.66 (1.37), while the chain timing from L2 -> Block -> H1 is 0.55 + 0.4 (0.95).
