The only 2 things that really affect its damage are the burn stat and the power blessings it can get, both of which affect the high end of the burn stack count
It takes a bit longer to kill cuz of that, but its strength of "kill everything in this room over the next few seconds" is still there
If youre still using an unupgraded version tho, im assuming youre still in the lower half of difficulties, where theres not enough enemies for it to really shine, but that'll change fast when you move up higher

Thammer has an easier moveset to use on paper but maybe a minor learning curve that's easily mitigated with practice. Thammer is also a primere elite and boss killer. You'll just have to practice playing with your reach to not give up a lot of damage against hordes and learn how to manage and execute empowered heavies if you're going with the mk2. I have nothing to say about the other mark.

Relic blade between both marks offers more in the way of versatility in terms of moveset, with added simple things like learning how to weave in and out of heat modes and appropriately executing appropriate combos and so on depending on the situation.

The crucis mk2 with carapace and unyielding and thrust and slaughterer with a 60% dump in defenses is straight up a very safe and powerful bet for thammers in builds taking martyrdom/inexorable judgement and shroudfield/fury of the faithful. Book works too at the cost of some killing potential against bosses and monsters but book can be used to just guarantee a free heavy empowered bonk for good dmg.

I forgot what the hell I take for my perks for relic blades but cranial grounding + wrath/rampage works just fine. Nvm i usually take carapace and unyielding but there are usually other perk combos that work well too.

Other bolt pistol aoe mark has its shortcomings more loudly on zealot so I don't use it there personally. You're free to fuck around wirh whatever you please. Personally recommend you listen to your actual interests while also considering stronger tools that have a bit more wider case uses in terms of where else they can fit in other classes and builds just to have something solid in your arsenal earlier.

I personally prefer throwing knives. Stuns are fine when you're confident in your damage and execution and can get the job done asap. Fire has a bit more variety in terms of staying power and how you can enable it to maximize its output.

No. They're not capable of piercing carapace armor. What they do excel in is precision damage on weakspots against specialists, elites and even shooters when necessary. They're also sustainable, as the only thing needed to replenish them are melee kills against specialists and elites, which zealot can do very well. More of a grenade option that scales with the player. There's also unique blessing interactions iirc but I forgot what they are.

With surgical, you can treat it similarly to a bow weapon in a way in vt2. You just hold and pick your target's head and they often just die. Once you get a revolver that's got it's stats maxed out or close to maxed out, give it a try in the psykanium in terms of figuring out your ttk.

And the snipey revolver is typically a 1-3 weakspot kind of weapon.

Despite the slower reload, mk2 definetly fills the "high damage option at a distance" much better

Yeah. The reload is just something you get used to.

Alternatively, you can utilize a tech exclusive to the throwing knives by canceling the animation of readying slower weapons. I don't remember if this also can be done to cut down time on reloading weapons.

But since the revolver is a rounds reloaded, I barely feel the strain on the reload unless things are really tight and maybe I end up having to fit my way out of a bad spot.

Run 60% defenses as your dump stat, carapace and unyielding for perks and thrust and slaughterer for your blessings. Once you get better at setting up backstab weakspot attacks, you can dead ass just 1-2 most big things. Bosses just require better timing.
