Here's my thing with it.

There really are ways to express the kind of self-betrayal and bankruptcy that Vi displays in other fiction that has characters from the very same underclasses joining the forces responsible. What they did was something very real and raw in some cases with folks with backgrounds that do know what the deal is with pigs and their adjacents and supporters. Her entire motivation for even fucking herself over like that was straight up to be the last possible thing to get in the way of her sister ending up like everybody else that has to deal with pig shit in Zaun right?

Thammer is a premiere old option that got better. Good with every keystone save blazing piety. Combat blades, tactical axes and duelling sword work well with blazing piety and inexorable judgment keystones in shroudfield builds as well (can't speak on martyrdom yet because I've never done it with those weapons) with either playing into the inherent strengths of those weapons.

Relic blade is a recent one that can get things done in the same way as thammer with martyrdom and inexorable judgement but not with the same explosiveness as thammer. Completely viable though.

I could see combat axe, namely Rashad being able to put in work but I never tried nor asked around. There could be something there with chainaxes and chainswords maybe but I haven't done it yet.

Everything else I'd recommend against unless you just don't care and wanna experiment anyway or even stumble upon as better than what one could think for melee options.

Eh. Ranked is a suggestion to me in fighting games. Ladder titles are very misleading and I think people buy into the hype too much because a lot of mfkers doing ladder chasing not as steezy as the title can promote. That's not to say people in higher ranks can't be good fr, but it's more a way to set expectations of what an opponent can do before one gets to know them better.

I mostly just see ranked as quick play with guaranteed sets within the match if both parties stay connected. I've gone up and down ranked ladders in other fighting games, maybe stay in a certain range but the skills I'm sharpening up don't need the rank to line up to just blow up somebody in a ft2-3 if I can figure em out and adapt in time.

The answer lies in heart of battle, not the spreadsheets. Ryu totally said that. :y
