It's a good generalist. For breakpoints some weapons don't actually need Martyrdom, so you can just get some free dodge buffs and both melee/ranged damage increases. Basically a passive if you're aggressive to get the stacks on dodge procced often.

15% damage and 15% attack speed stack together multiplicatively for damage dealt throughout an encounter. There's some nuance to that though, with no breakpoint differences it'd just be attack speed benefitting you for example.
Also that the magnitude of its benefit decreases as you have more buffs but that's often not a worthwhile concern for IJ.

Better single target but worse crowd damage is the gist. Crit Taxe's whole gimmick is the crit mod for Carapace, Knife has Uncanny already. Can also build IoD and EF without Blazing Piety. Damage-wise it'll do quite a lot more boss damage, with Duelist up it's pretty competitive on FotF. Martyr works out better but that's nothing new.
