For crowd damage absolutely. Hence the note about 'outside of the vacuum' Evis being better, as generally Zealot's crowd damage is fairly important for The Big Numbersā„¢. There's also an added case of the Mk XV Evis having better Unyielding damage than Chaxe, and that armor type isn't prone to cases where more damage is just overkill. If Uncanny didn't exist as it does, Chaxe would pair quite well with the single target options available. Hopefully if it gets changes, they aren't nearly as low quality as the Evis ones.

I am a top 500 stan for all of the chain weapons I'll have u know. It's why my opinions are like this, been glazing the Chaxe since before P13, I shared the reason why the Chainsword was so busted back then, and I've consistently used Evis since launch. The Mk III in particular is genuinely pretty cool, normal weapon combos are so braindead but this one has some cool gimmicks with its chain timings (plus I dig non-looping strikedowns). I just loathe the previous attempt at balancing the two Evis variants, and the Mk XV is boring albeit a good conceptual sidegrade (in practice it's just better most of the time now though crying).

To my knowledge you don't need thrust for Chaxe's 1 shot BPs on Crushers, Mk XII in particular. The points brought up are ones I've already mentioned in favor of the Evis, the message you're replying to referenced that. Chaxe offers better small elite output and sustained Carapace damage over the Mk XV with less commitment required. I'd say that's a fairly noteworthy foothold to have for single target in comparisons between the Evis and Chaxe. For single target you got Dueling Sword (Mk IV), Chaxe, Thunder Hammer (Crucis), Knife.
For generalist you got Relic Blade, Crusher, , Combat Axe (Rashad), Shock Maul, Evis, Taxe, Thunder Hammer (Ironhelm).
For crowd focus you got Heavy Sword, Chainsword, Dclaw.

Genuinely, you can make anything here work if you build for it. I recommend the Relic Blade, pick whichever you like the combos for, as it's an overtuned generalist weapon. Crusher as a followup, it's a bucket list weapon. Hsword and Caxe on a Martyr build are classics, with deathblow/brutal momentum you can mulch crowds of fodder and small elites.

If you want like, actual slicing a power weapon is way cooler for that, chain weapons in their clunkiest fashion are like metal clubs with absurdly sharp teeth revving through it which would do quite a lot of damage. Could totally still sever limbs and rip apart armor.

Like with that last one you said your point was bringing up the housing, I already answered that fairly well. 1. Some housing is designed to not have that clunky issue, and 2. It's a metal club with a sharp chain revving through it. In an irl setting that's really strong, above quite a significant number of melee weapons we have as humans. But then your messages are arguing for in-lore stuff, like space marines don't exist irl, whether or not their performance in this setting matches up with how in-lore chain weapons act doesn't matter either. This entire bit here #zealot-class message makes no sense as my message talks about how power weapons are way cooler for slicing, and that in the setting them being blah blah bats with chains would still allow hacking off limbs and ripping through armor we have irl. Most of these replies seem to be arguing under the guise of completely different rules here, which were established in the context, which reads as if you didn't read anything I said.
