It's basically just a general utility ult + max rending crit for a single hit. Great to make up for poor ADMs on a weapon, and to boost attack speed. The toughness bump is a primary utility of it, Zealot has poor non-lethal impulse toughness generation and FotF is good at supplementing that.

It’s a great question because it can be used for so many things.
I almost always take the talent node that gives 2 charges.
For me, I will usually save mine for gunner lines that are entrenched. Sprint between cover and then fotf into gunner lines and start causing havoc. Safe then second charge to get back to the group if you get overwhelmed.
If you’re kicking ass and taking names, stick in a bit longer.
Always try to keep 1 charge for emergency. Especially if a group member goes down. Soemtimes having that one extra charge will make the difference !

Yeah, as zealot they are your nemesis!
Biggest advice I could offer is don’t sprint at all times. Save your stamina for gunners. When you do encounter them, sprint on an angle, not straight at them. They’ll miss most shots!
Move cover to cover. Don’t feel stupid or “not good enough” if you need to crouch behind a box and reload a weapon, or even just peak out and see where there’s an opening to fotf into.
