I took it even further by ignoring the first middle talents and just funneled the rest into the bottom right tree. It didn't feel too bad and a lot of what my problems were during this test run is just getting back into better habits with overcommitment to play with upkeep on buffs. Zealot keystones have always been odd for me to wrap my head around in terms of what they feel like by comparison so I'm just sort of trying to be more observant of how things on paper end up translating after my solid play in the first place.

Losing tempo on managing a boltgun is kind of rough but that gets better with less time putting myself in shitzones to have an excuse to push a build under pressure. I want to figure out how to just push this build idea to best I can get it and then see how well other crit vomit weapons feel with it. I'm sure a lot of this can change when handling havoc but I'll read that information later.

I'll give some of what you brought up a try soon. Not exactly sure what I might want to try with perk changes. I want to turn the boltgun into the tank and boss buster it already is on magdump. I think after all my buffs, assuming that there's more that I know I don't know with how the game's tooltips don't always paint the most accurate picture, I'm at 55% crit chance. Idk how much I really gain or even care to slap on the extra 5% but I don't mind it. I'm thinking of swapping puncture with cavalcade to push the crit harder just to see the difference

I liked playing with cutthroat in mind because of just how I'd handle mobs out of habits from vt2 with backstabs but I'm pretty sure I had a version of this build that did use purge the unclean and it was nice. Not sure how much I'll notice the difference rn but I already set it there for this one.

Only reason why I ignore twbs for now is just wanting the extra damage for melee and sustained assault. It's nice not getting stunned while playing dumb I'll be real about that. Buh mai dameej. KEKW_ogryn

I kinda want some extra CDR from curios but idk what I'd be willing to part with. The extra defense is nice but I like glass. I can play to not get hit just fine but the extra health and toughness are there to let the gunner resistance give me more time to finish the job and deal with the overextension anyway lol.

That right there is a fairly textbook crit build. I'd swap out +health on your curios, but the third curio slot is usually just a random whatev slot unless you have high ping in which Sniper Resistance can be fun. Can also try out Crusher, Relic Blade, Shock Maul, either axe family, and Evis for similar crit generalists. Hsword has a Carapace weakness so other weapons can lessen the load your Boltgun is carrying. Knife and Duelling Sword are available too but they're single target weapons, Devils Claw and Chainsword for the same reason but they're anti-crowd weapons.

I've been mostly conditioned to have a love for battle rifles, DMR's, revolvers, carbines, shotguns and sniper rifles. Love a good breech-loading grenade launcher ever since I was a wee demobabe. Feels good every time in most games I've played. As far as assault rifles go I like a good AK, M16 sure whatever, M4A1 is cool or something.

Fuck it, just give me those archetypes and put a bug or a laser on it or some shit and I'm in there somewhere lmao.

I imagine maxing it out through curios isn't exactly necessary, maybe not even advised in favor defensive qol bonuses but I generally enjoy actually leaning into things like keystones for a build on purpose. Is it even possible to get the max bonus from it? How much would something like building more health even realistically do?

If you run full wound curios the TDR buffs on Martyrdom are a substitute for toughness curios. BftE and Restoring Faith offer a lot of health tankiness, Holy Revenant is potent for sustaining low health. The number of wound curios you want largely depend on the weapon you're running, like with BM or Deathblow you just need Breakpoints but w/ crowd weapons it's nice to have as much damage as possible if you have a lot of cleave. Psykh is useful for that.
