I play recon bet with brauto and it just works wonders against any ranged patrols or entrenched gun lines.
Often it’s not even about killing. It’s more suppressing enemies so your team can move ahead without taking a stupid amount of damage

There's a build I call the Agri Railgun which may be their speed. Gameplay loop is using your melee weapon to build Shroudfield, use Shroudfield w/ duelist up on the Agri's slug. Can also build Scattershot up and enjoy infinite cleave throwing knives as needed. Any melee weapon works but I usually use something like a Dclaw, Shock Maul, or Dueling Sword (rarely).

Fun fact: the description for the blessing lies to you. Basically it's just if you kill something within 12.5 meters of you, do suppression scaling on blessing level within 12m of you. It's high suppression but it's not quite high enough range to matter over just running a suppression weapon.
Also kinda funny that the blessing exists in its current implementation but the Arbites shield can just do 200 suppression in a 20m cone

Knife has a high finesse boost, making Martyrdom pretty solid due to the rather small difference between weakspot hits and critical weakspot hits.
Though Martyrdom works for pretty much any melee weapon. IJ covers ranged weapons too and Piety procs Enduring Faith & IoD.
You can probably just grab Enduring Faith and IoD and not even run Scourge or BP and proc them frequently enough to matter lol

it's your "oh shit" mode for doing a fuckton of damage in a short time
ideally, yeah, you can juggle the uptime to have it on whenever you're killing, but that's a lot of advanced preplanning and brainpower
generally trash enemies will fall to the inert blade well enough, even in large groups
if i see a huge horde suddenly flood the room i'm in, or if i see a dozen ragers or maulers come through a door, then I'm hitting the activation and swiping at heads
otherwise it's generally off and i'm keeping the empty heat gauge in reserve for when i need it

if you're running Chorus, you can pretty much have full uptime with the power on if you use Chorus while it's cooling down
