If you're asking this as a general rhetorical, with knife ideally you would be going for weakspot hits at all times. Single target hits wouldn't be missing enough to make Lacerate worth it, light spam would be less controllable. You would hit weakspots far more if the idea was to hit weakspots instead of bodyshots to proc Lacerate as well.

If you're asking me in particular, I'll setup Power DI and run some games to grab a melee weakspot hitrate. Back in my prime the value was like 65% or smth with the Mk III, as I used PAs on crowds and that doesn't hit weakspots past the first target consistently. Iirc a bit below 75% on a flamer setup.

So, of the two options, I would say psyker has a lot more mileage out of autopistol.

Perfect strike makes it cleave through armor, but like why tho
And also gives it 4x cleave, but like why tho when it cant deal any damage past the 4th enemy

But even then it may be still better to run rampage over perfect strike cuz cleave isn't really a problem on it till you get to havoc

And shred still enables all the crit stuff even if the evis isnt the best crit damage weapon
