Like dark suggested, bolter is a great pairing.

With relic blade you already can handle mixed hordes just fine. Turn the blade on and find an attack combo that works for you and go to town. Anything up to armoured ragers will go down pretty quick.

Bolter is great for maulers and crushers, especially patrols. I’ll usually empty a whole clip into a patrol of maulers then switch the blade on and clean up what’s left over.

For crusher patrols, I’d suggest maybe 2 full salvos emptied into the patrol before rushing in with your blade.

Alternatively, flamer with penetrating flames will do great against maulers and bulwark patrols. Will do alright vs crushers as well, albeit a bit of a slower job

At the start they are hard to use. Honestly for the first while I forgot I even had them.

But after practice I wouldn’t go anywhere without them. The real fun part is when you get good with them.

I’ve sniped snipers with them from across bridges, etc. it becomes a game to see how far you can throw! They are great for specials.

But fire nades have saved runs for sure. I love them.
