Dump Defences and put +Unyielding and Thrust on it, that lets you one-shot anything other than monsters with just a powered up critical headshot, don't need to even have stacks of anything built up. Apart from that you can put whatever you want for the second perk and blessing, I use +Maniac and Slaughterer for dealing with ragers and hordes. With the Crucis you can either alternate push attacks and heavies, or just spam heavies, both approaches give you repeated horizontal sweeps which works wonders against hordes.

This is true. When I play my psyker I use the force great sword, and I’ll take out most things faster than I can with my zealot.

Granted, you’re squishy as hell with very little movement. If you’re surrounded you’re kinda screwed.

No, psyker has higher damage scaling with fgs.

The only thing zeal has over psyker in melee when comparing two melee oriented builds to each other is chastise.

Psyker has this lovely advantage where all the good melees have uncanny strike or good carapace adms, then they have dd + scriers to further brute force their damage higher.

Zealout has two good melees with uncanny strike, being knife and ds. The fun part about us, though, is that we have more options due to chastise existing. See mk9 hsword, one of the best weapons in the game, balanced by the fact that it does almost zero carapace damage, and we use it to great effect due to chastise.
