Mk3 isn't bad at it with Perfect Strike. Mk15 has no way around that cleave target limit on its lights

Considering eviscerator deals increased flak armor damage and the old eviscerator model has a swipe as the first heavy attack, it really feels like they designed it around sawing maulers in half...but you can only do one mauler at a time, and the special attack isn't exactly blazing fast.

The mk IV chainaxe staggers almost everything with light attacks and actually staggers crushers during rev attack.

Light attacks also open up bulwarks.

It is a little weak at horde clearing tho, heavy attacks are a bit slow and don't cleave that well.

take a mark 4 chainaxe but fit it entirely with parts for an assault chainsword so that it looks visually identical to one

when you start using it, it's still the old chainaxe for sure, but your BRAIN sees new weapon doing new thing

I agree, interestingly enough. I find the relic blade is a great all rounder. Handles hordes great, can take on ragers and maulers fairly well, can even go toe to toe with some crushers if you’re good with your dodges and what not.

But I find the chain axe, albeit more challenging to use, is just more fun. I run a chain axe build with one of my zealots and it can be incredibly lethal if I’m playing on my A game

And the chain axe can one shot crushers. Relic blade can if you chastise/poke to the head with the blade power field on, but even then it sometimes won’t.

You’re not wrong. I bring it as backup for crusher patrols. I find the eviscerator is fine if you’re jsut fighting 2-3 crushers. But a whole pack needs the boltgun to just spray and pay. It will usually kill 2-3 immediately and soften up a few more.

Then just rev, heavy attack, chastise and watch the body parts fly

But the eviscerator is just a fun weapon. I recently tried a suggestion from someone in here for some blessing combos to try and it’s been a blast

Man, when I get in a mission I am so gonna miss my favorite mk of the heavy sword: the mk6... Being able to heavy spam elites sometimes without having to worry about using weaker heavies(since the 2 heavies on both the mk6 and mk7 heavy swords do the same damage) is so nice... that's why I prefer the mk6 both heavies do the same damage and I don't get stuck in a heavy 2 and 3 loop like you do on the mk9 if you heavy spam :\

Because... heavy sword feels better to me, in all honesty. The taxe is good on zealot, but, I mostly end up light spamming the world on it due to inexperience with it...
