the learning how to play monster stuff is a valid criticism of the game but by no means why the game failed, even when stage 2 dropped most people were still going into spastic rages over dying to underpowered gimmick monsters like wraith because rubbing two braincells together long enough to use their boost to dodge instead of to chase was apparently too much to ask. if anything the game's greatest failure was that it didn't treat its playerbase like morons

Bolt pistol wants flak + maniac, not flak + unarmored. Unarmored spots on enemies will be oneshots anyway with puncture. It also wants to dump collateral.

Curios want toughness, hp, and either 2 gunner resists and 1 sniper resist or 3 gunner resists.

Your talent pathing doesn't scale well for higher end content because unfortunately Second Wind is the only viable toughness generation we have.
