You can get competent randos, but, a lot of the time you won't(even less often on easier difficulties like normal damnation and below)

in non-havoc generally speaking offensive zealot career skills are better. The reason the shout is so effective on Vet is because it doesn't interrupt your ability to deal damage

In a game where most enemies die very fast, and where most enemies are really only dangerous because if they pile up faster than you can kill them they will physically prevent you from moving (which in turn prevents you from dodging, getting out of fire, etc) then of course the meta comes down pretty firmly on the side of "Just Fucking Kill Them"

Havoc of course changes things because chaff enemies (especially ranged) are extremely dangerous and everything generally takes longer to kill. So of course support and CC becomes much more important

Usually a chorus player will lose like a third or even half of their damage depending on chorus uptime, but it's also not impossible to do good damage on a chorus build if you really need to. You're still a zealot with weapons

Overpressure is more raw damage (most noticeable against bulwarks, reapers, and bosses), Penetrating Flames helps make up for your melee being bad at armor, Inspiring Barrage makes using flamer very safe.

Blaze Away and Overpressure is usually seen as the best combo.

Perks are unyielding/maniac/flak, or carapace if you’re taking penetrating flames.
