i mean, the way i'd like to do it is make it like the rising storm/killingfloor flamer where its an actual physical sticky liquid (not full physics but enough for wall bounces n sticking to surfaces)
the much easier way is giving it a cleave limit, ramping the initial targets stacks/dmg, and have it drops off as it cleaves. This makes it slightly better at single target, and mulch the front face of the horde instead of them just kind of shrugging it off and dying later, but stops it instantly spreading full dmg across like 100 dudes
