Dueling Sword has very high mobility, and in particular the Mk4 has very high single target damage, a completely brainless moveset (click for hordes, hold for single target), staggers everything short of a monster instantly with Mouse3, and passable horde clear outside Havoc.

Power Sword is very strong but low mobility by itself makes it unforgiving—you will be punished more often for bad positioning and bad dodge timing and it makes it much harder to clutch with.

Its one drawback is the horde clear isn't great, but every class can bring other weapons to compensate.

in third person, it registers the same thing but can seem to wiggle back and forth as you sweep across near objects back to far terrain

but, it gives you the muscle memory understanding of where your gun will fire in all 3 dimentions

kinda like if you turned off the crosshair in a game and just winged it cuz you knew well enough

also, the melee swings are unchanged from where they are in first person

obviously I guess

but you now have to track the weapon in 3d to see where it's gonna swing cuz of the offset camera

and a couple animations pretty egregiously don't line up so you have to get it in your instincts, which isn't difficult with enough time in the seat

imo it makes darktide a completely new game

you have to relearn your swing arcs, for everything

and aiming is damn near identical but juuuuuuust a lil offset

and the crosshair wiggles to give you a sense of depth

I swap back and forth because the camera can clip into terrain, and in lights out or vent purge mission you don't see the short range flashlight you do in 1st

so when it's dark it's dark

but OLEDs can fire each pixel or whatever at different at a different brightness

so if you need black paint on a car in the sun, that's full bright black

if you want a dark room, the screen just puts out less light

that's my understanding anyway, it's true because I want it to be true
