My dilemma is such: Ogryn is my favorite class. By a landslide, frankly. Only problem with that is their weapons, to me, do not fall into the necessary categories of “fun” and “balanced.”

Their melee weapons are all pretty one-note other than MAYBE Paul. Some are insanely strong (ie pickaxe) and some are pretty powercrept out rn (cleaver). This separates them from both fun and balanced. I know some ppl like the melee, but it just feels too basic, too standard for how intricate some weapons get in this game. We have power maul, there’s like no reason we shouldn’t get other power weapons or even chain weapons.

Shield is unfortunately in a bad place. It’s very strong, for what it is and how easy it is to use, but its lights are completely useless, void of notable combos, and the special is a dumpster fire that tends to attract newer players and build bad habits.

So they probably won’t change it. It’s easy, and powerful, just boring and could use a special and combo rework.

for a crit build, is crit damage more important or crit chance?

With the lunge ability you get guaranteed crits, but there's also a lot of other abilities that give that as well, so I feel like damage would be better for a weapon perk

for a relic blade, I was thinking either +25% flak and unyielding or 25%yield and +10% crit* damage

cuz that 10% can apply to everything and flak armor isn't that big of a break point for it

For general purpose, specifically non havoc, you want flak elites.

Carapace, because all elites (and specialists but they dont matter for this argument) have 1.5x hp and you may not hit the bp without it, or unarmored for horde bps.

Only crushers (fully body), maulers (head), and scab ragers (torso) are carapace.

Then there are specific parts of bulwarks and reapers that are carapace, but you shouldn't be hitting those parts, so I don't count them.

Like a bulwark's shoulder armor is carapace.

The burn stats do a flat damage per tick depending on stacks and armor

Damage from the Damage stat dictates the damage on the first target hit by a gout of flames
