It's more about your solutions to problems. As long as both your weapon choice and talent choice aren't horrible, you'll be comfortable based on your skill level.

The biggest problems come from people not back pedalling or hitting both boss triggers instead of just the one.

Very strong weapon, but relatively slow with 4 dodges.
Mobility dump as always.
Heat dump trades 2% dodge distance for an additional 1.2s on recharge time.
Not worth it!

Unless otherwise indicated, the following information is related to normal missions, not Havoc.

Mark

Best and most versatile mark is by far Mk10, although Mk2 offers equally good horde clear... at the cost of ability CDR and any form of TDR.
Both are good - play what you enjoy ultimately.

Moveset Combos

Note: Activating the sword during a slide causes immense lag time (1.5s+) before you can begin performing actions again. Either don't do that, or cancel it with a throwing knife.

  • MkX Moveset:

    • Horde: Spam lights
      (The reason you don't use a heavy loop is explained in the talent section.)
    • Single Target: Loop [H1 -> H2 -> L3]
      (Single target combo can be force-started with PA instead of H1)
    • Burst Damage: Loop [Dodge slide -> Thrust -> Throwing Knife -> Horizontal dodge slide -> Thrust]
      (Dodge sliding enables your thrusting sprint attack, and throwing knife cancels the draw animation allowing you to repeat it quickly)

  • Mk2 Moveset

    • Horde: H1 -> Loop [H2 -> L3]
    • Single Target: L1 -> H4 -> Loop [H3 -> H4]
      (Like before, you can force start the combo with PA.)

(This mark can also do the dodge sliding tech for burst damage; same combo.)

Blessings

You can always use a combination of Cranial + [Heatsink/Rampage], however I found in testing that each mark had different synergies.

Blessings:

  • Mk10: Cranial + Rampage
  • Mk2: Cranial + Heatsync
  • Havoc (both marks): Cranial + Wrath

Perks

Perks (Both marks):

  • Flak + Elites
    Flak is needed to hit horde clear bps both in and out of charge state. (While the weapon itself is a great horde clear weapon, if you don't clear efficiently enough its slow swings will cause you to take chip damage much more easily.)
    Elites is needed to one-shot crushers and other elites with FOTF + sprint stab.

  • Flak + Unarmored
    While not as versatile as the above option, taking Unarmored as your second park hits even more horde clear bps both in and out of charge state on both marks. Make your lawnmower even stronger! I recommend this for Havoc due to not hitting the aforementioned elite bps even with elite damage, so might as well lean further into horde clear.
