I mainly use Smite purely for CC. Doing a short Smite into a release will push all the enemies targeted down offering a window for a revive too.
Mainly you use it for locking down elite rush/dog or mutant waves and securing revives.
Smite M1 can poke a buffed dog off of someone too
EK on Havoc is super useful for efficiently doming shooters and specials, can be built to do ok high hp elite damage. Then wrath FGS with DD carries your horde-clear, cqc bossing and cqc elite clear
It's just what I use on Havoc tho because it has different requirements
Tbf Voidstrike might be good too on Havoc
