Worst I ever personally had to put up with was actually before Smite existed, a guy who ran the Surge Staff basically the same way. At that time it did fuckall damage to anything that wasn't Flak or Carapace, but hard CC'ed 4-5 enemies at a time so was great against groups of specials or elite packs. Guy called me a cuck for using a gun and not a staff, and insisted that using his Surge Staff to crowd control 5 poxwalkers at a time was much more intelligent than just meleeing them.

yes there is a stagger threshold (idk) but that's why you can stagger burgles and bosses, they just have a higher threshold. And since BoN can't be conventionally staggered they use it for spitting people out.
