they appear to be on their own independent timer, like special or dog waves in an auric, and are not tied to say a % chance for every enemy to spawn as a slug
and they're all full strength, and you can get more than one at a time
so bring your corruption healing aura and your salt shaker
cumulative corruption will start to become a drag on ease of mission completion
cuz in tight areas the puke on the ground becomes unavoidable during a horde or if the slug runs off and you have to chase it through where it's already puked
