Yes, exactly. As you get better at the game, you'll be hit less and less. As for breakpoints, the Crucis model requires both Thrust and Carapace damage to drop a crusher out of the box.

-learning throwing knives to snipe specialists without having to run a dedicated ranged option for them (also allows you to run flamer/boltgun)
-movesets of your weapons to access the most useful attack in your chain (goes for all classes but especially zealout)
