im quite enjoying the new things, such as side quests with their own respective dungeons, how follower bonds/social links are more directly tied to how you can build your party (instead of just being exclusively for xp bonuses for fusion for mc and p5 confidant benefits) since their ranks grant you access to higher tiers of archetypes (personas) of that type in every party members archetype tree, as well as the amount of slots you can have to inherit other abilities from that characters archetypes
fusion skills are back which were abandoned basically after the original p3, p3r somewhat recycled the iconic ones for theurgies but they were too different
the overall pacing feels much more dynamic because the entire game doesnt take place in the same location the entire time, so it feels way more engaging than the usual "finish dungeon by this deadline then we'll have the next dungeon deadline soon after" cuz theres more going on here than just dungeon 1 dungeon 2 dungeon 3 and so on

my take on it is it works and is really useful because it allows you to take positioning you otherwise wouldnt be able to, and gives you enough of a buffer to not get swiss cheesed if you do fuck up or get caught off guard

some of the other ones say similar things but dont give it credit for how much it mitigates issues, they just say the problem itself is mitigated the most by just playing/positioning better which is true

but not everyone is perfect, and having that buffer against the most common elite in the game can and will save you when you inevitably fuck up

but the core turn based combat is directly from smt, the same press turn system with weaknesses and crits taking half a turn

very similar to persona they awaken a power that lets them do their abilities n shit, but unlike persona, everyone can change which one is active, not just the main character

once you have a new one unlocked via a connection with a side character or new party member, you can unlock that one for other people in their skill tree for them to use
