the slow pullout of the bolter makes it not optimal as a precision weapon on zealot. even if the randos are eating all the ammunition, keep in mind you have 8 entire sprays loaded into your weapon at the beginning. thats 8 groups of crushers and maulers you can kill about 80% of (and finish the rest of quickly with your melee). many missions i barely pick up any ammo if i dont use my bolter for fun (read: spraying into hordes for no reason)

Not really. Different characters have different "feels" to them. In the sense playing trauma psykers feels very different from knife zealot. But if youre asking about combat effectiveness then still the main thing youre doing is "kill your prefered targets quickly, have a decent way to deal with nonpreferred targets, have a way to survive".

Alright seems reasonable. Out of curiosity - why people like crucis more right now?

because it doesnt self brick yourself with stun anymore

and is actually usable outside of a monstro showing up

recent changes to it has made it the superior options overall

previously the stun was almost 2 seconds after a heavy hit

the overhead can let it by pass bulwarks if you're tall and jump lmfao

and the heavy hit was only a side swipe, so you couldnt hit what you wanted in a crowd, which is why ironhelm was better despite lower damage

and giving a strikedown/ST oriented attack to the crucis which has the stronger special DMG makes it feel pretty good
