mk15 works with anything, so you can honestly use whatever you like as it doesnt have any severe weaknesses you need your gun to cover up
revolver is just the meta pick due to it both being a fast handling weapon that can delete specialists and cleave through enemies to reach them, while also being able to deal with armor, with this build skipping throwing knives youll need to make sure youre still able to have a reliable method of killing specialists with your gun if you swap off the revolver
that being said, i do have a few issues with this build, as games lantern builds tend to be a a gamble in terms of quality

the reason why u go revolver is because it's the only gun other than the bolt gun that can penetrate cruhers

also cdr perk on curios seems good given the long cooldown of chorus, but in its current state if you wanted to chorus spam, evis is the worst weapon to do so, knife would do better for that
HOWEVER
with how IoD is going to be changing in 3 days, evis will work just fine for it, and since its changing to CDR SPEED buff for a duration, the cdr perk is going to be doing even less for you, because it will either will be reducing the base cooldown that is already gonna be moving at light speed, or additively throwing 12% to the 175% for 3 curios slots which is unnoticable

considering that your melee can already deal with armor, and your knives can deal with specialists, revolver is no longer filling a unique role, and you dont have to keep it
however it still isnt a bad choice to pair together with tknives, because throwing knives inherit blessing buffs from your current weapon, meaning you can hold down your aim to force a crit with surgical, then throw your knife, which is now a crit, and recieves the rending buff from handcannon since it was a crit, which will actually deal more damage than if you shot your revolver
