I have a squaddie who never had an SNES growing up so he's just now sitting down to chrono trigger as an adult

I'm practically up his ass living vicariously through all the game milestones and plot points

It's actually pretty tough, and armor statues is a lot harder of a 1st boss than I ever remembered them being in a link to the past... then again you also always had the bow by then. You don't always get a bow in this, or even the arrows you need to use it(both of which require an inventory slot without a quiver for the arrows)

and I feel like the recent past several years have reduced these games to speedruns and other silly challenges that carve out all of the enjoyment in the game and reduce it to just one objective

and the entire game is an obstacle to that objective

i'm a noob but in this game i find a build has to have three components
trash clear, a way to deal with specialists out of melee range quickly, and a way to deal with crusher/mauler armor
