Bleed caps out at 16 stacks, and is unimpressive compared to basically any weapons damage output, least of all the knife, and that's even before taking into account armor mitigation of stuff like unyielding
And the actual damage you deal with the knife to the body is laughably low, all of the damage potential the knife has comes from its multiple damage multipliers in its stats, with the largest ones be crit and headshot that it doubles up on

Tho they still got downside of ATROCIOUS boss damage and carapace damage, so you need to back it up with bolter or revolver (thanks to the chastise nerf), but in the case of revolver on some bosses your damage will still be shit (like Chaos Spawn)
