and auric isnt different, its just that hi-whatever is always there
for mats, low int and non-auric exists
for money, it scales linearly with difficulty and isn't exponentially scaling like mats is
if you try to nerf players in auric damnation you also nerf normal damnation
without any compensation
so even if you're just farming, you'll still be doing fine even if you're not doing the top difficulties
just try to buff auric missions as is instead
especially when you factor in winrates

insta pounce dogs is a pain in the ass, also they can even take 90% HP damage from Agri8 braced and still not even flinch and pounce you, when instajump happens

- fast enemies that outpace other enemies and thus can't hide inside deathballs for long
- have a massive melee vulnerability
- must be in melee range to do anything to you
cause its mainly like flamers and dogs that mess with them

the one annoying aspect of dogs i do not like is the AoE stagger that they have on pounce

idk theres a lot of melee
but i still feel like stuff is missing cause no shield weapons and duelwield weapons
and a lot of melees just end up feeling samey because they are pretty samey
lots of melees just have the same stagger falloff (in that they basically don't have any and you just stagger any ol' poxwalker even if it was the 200th enemy that you hit in your swing)
combos on a bunch of weapons are whatever
dodging is so ridiculously strong, and blocking is so ineffective in the majority of scenarios
stamina is basically irrelevant
sprint attacks are inconsistent between different melee weapons
so even if there is more weapons, there isnt much "variety"
i wouldnt mind more complexity to the melee system mostly through combos although honestly melee is my fav part of this game
yeah though i think just making blocking more of a relevant thing would add some spice
so i could go either way
and it's one of the major reasons that i want to nerf enemy count
because you can't really have any interesting blocking stuff if you're facing against 10+ dreg ragers

e.g., blunt weapons would have less stagger falloff and bladed weapons have a sharper stagger falloff so the 10th poxwalker that you hit in your cleaving swing doesn't just get trivially staggered and unable to do anything to you so you can just mash LMB without a care
currently i feel like its fineish for certain stuff and then for some stuff it just falls
it's one of those devil in the detail things that seem small but would add a bit more distinction
revising the melee a bit would be my next step in terms of "core mechanics and stuff to change" after the crafting system

i also want sprinting melee attacks to be their own thing because of a particular quirk of the duelling sword poke heavies, where the heavies just have their hitbox lingering for a long as time so you can just move your crosshair around and continue to hit enemies a relatively long time after you've already stabbed
it makes sense if you think of the stab as a lunge
except that this also works if you're doing a standing poke which is just deranged
i am currently using this:
incoming godawful sprinting attacks so you have to stop before attacking to get a good attack
giving some distinction to sprinting heavies (and perhaps a stamina cost to them) would be neat, as well as a way to balance certain sprint attacks giving a massive speed bonus (cough cough duelling sword and knife)

tree seems fine to me besides what i'd consider some mild overinvestment into survivability (mostly that i wouldn't take good balance here)

what kind of builds are most viable for auric missions?
I try look at youtube but most are outdated or whacky, like flame thrower and bolter, I don't wanna use that

my generic recommendation for people who have absolutely 0 specific investment in something would be like a crusher + brauto
you can go any combination of blitzes/ults etc with that and come out fine but i like tknives/chastise/momentum for it
