Yeah to ensure you meet the conditions of the penance, you're gonna have to play like an asshole
Cuz while rushing ahead to knife gunners is not a bad idea and can sometimes be the best thing to do, you have to basically treat your team like plague carriers and avoid them at all costs to avoid the chance of them dipping into your coherency when you get the kill

single combat okay sure but when you're shooting in mixed/pack hordes you're not just jostling the guy you punked
I use the bolt pistol to thin out charging waves and blunt the momentum or pull the teeth out of entrenched ranged enemies
8 rounds is several several seconds on target even firing as fast as you can
so a third, half the mag is guaranteed one to three, maybe four enemies gone in the moments you have five seconds to yourself free and clear

where the end of the ironsight is, is where the round goes, in three dimentions like the bolt rifle
all this to say, when you ads you're most accurate for a specific moment in the bracing animation
you bring the gun up, fire a shot with very little timed aim, and keep going at pace

from my experience SC is unreliable cause unless you follow up with a light attack you usually dont get the benefit of the stagger, cause the stagger is light that the enemy can just recover within a half a second period essentially
for big weapons that can stun it works cause you can repeatedly stun and eventually knock them on the floor, leading to 2 seconds of free 80% samage
never had this experience with sauls, i tried with hammerblow and it was just not enough
yes it deals way more damage
but its way more unreliable imho, even on ragers at times
you can argue it has more benefit with the special hit, which does stun them and half the time it benefits from the bonus damage of skullcrusher, and you'd be right
