ideally youd use this with a weapon that can get crit chance blessings, such as the chainsword, eviscerator, or devils claw, as they can have shred, or the knife with riposte (which will have a higher crit chance than the other weapons, at the cost of hitting fewer enemies)

Riposte/precog and uncanny/precog are the go-tos, the former benefitting more from piety and high crit for crit rending, and the latter being just generally good. Everything else is worse, some more than the others cough lacerate cough. Backstab thingy is just a conditional rending, compared to uncanny being able to stack up on trash and then start slapping the bigger stuff from any angle. Precog is a 60% on weakspot, 60% on crit, 120% on crit weakspots damage boost tied to what you're already doing, dodging, and boosts knives best trait, their high finesse damage modifier crits and weakspots. Talent tree also has duellist for almost the same effect, so even more stabby

Enemies move blindingly fast so learning their parry timings is very difficult. I can also just avoid most of them so I don't have to learn the shite parrying system.

Also, considering armor does basically nothing in bloodborne, trying to learn parry timings on endgame enemies is that much harder because you die in 2-3 hits.

That's probably why you don't know about shield classes affecting parry timing.

Light shields are very generous with their timings, medium shields need to be a little more precise.
