i think it's because the dash saved the initial position that the bruiser was at when you started your dash
typically the dash would end when you collided with your locked on target but you killed it before that could happen + it ran forward from its initial position so you just ended up dashing back to where the bruiser originally was at when you initiated the dash

Well, there's no deathspitter for mk2, as for the conditional damage, it all falls to the randomized RNG nature of Darktide, some games it will overperform, some not, that's all is there to it, but again, the use is much more wide that just shooting the beast of nurgle.
And part of that also relies on players skill and positioning.

Well, Infernus is definitely more for boss situations (and boss spawns modificators in maelstrom), since most things are (almost) instakilled with this pistol, so the DOT damage wont do much during a short timeframe
You should try Ghost, it's insanely OP blessing for Auric/Maelstrom since there's abundance of elite gunners/shotgunners/reapers
