yeah those games do not seem like they'd be for me. I don't mind losing stuff in a match but losing it after it carries over to another is not fun to me.

Hunt is not as punishing, you can purchase gear and the game throws random freebies at you

I just hate games that are OVERLY punishing. Brings out the toxicity in me. There's a reason I don't touch anything related to Souls-likes or Souls games themselves.
