i think the general consenus is ironhelm is more versatile

crucis isn't bad it's just more of a skill commitment to use it in return for an extra 25% damage on the special (10% more compared to an activated ironhelm h3) and you don't get the boosted hordeclear from the activated attacks like you would on ironhelm

Both are gud. Crucis is frustrating but better in terms of raw numbers. Ironhelm is more consistent and you'll have less "GET DOWN MISTER PRESIDENT" moments with it.

Their main use comes in the monstrous specialists maelstroms, but having one there means you rarely see any monstrosity alive for more than 5 seconds. Crucis can hit certain breakpoints to one shot monstrosities, but Ironhelm allows you to not be stuck in a corner clearing the horde for 10 mins while your psyker is being bullied by a chaos spawn.

Though if you have a good secondary to pair with it (flamer, braced auto or just a columnus), can run either

Eviscerator is a good second option for those btw. Good AoE and you got the special heavies for bosses. It won't 1 shot, but it will take out a chunk
