Speaking only of mechanics, yea. I wouldn't say GTFO and Resident Evil are the same. What I mean is that GTFO has a lot of moment to moment gameplay decisions that overlap with survival horror, so imo it's a lot like one.

One of the main tenants of survival horror is scarceness of resources and GTFO replicates that almost exactly, you start missions with maybe a 3rd of your total ammo reserve, and you have to scavenge around the map to find what little bits you can add. You are also constantly in danger, as one misstep can completely mess up a run.

It's a great time if you can get into it

but it was my first souls so im biased, i think your first will likely always be your hardest

That's close to the marty throwing knife build I have, only I invested into the unyielding damage and 15 toughness after it at the cost of duellist and good balance

the 1st edition was... a mess, tho...

I sacrificed one of the bottom marty talents and sustained assault and I decided against that course of action. Having all toughness nodes in the zealot tree was not worth the loss, lol

So ideally you'd throw it at a group of them and hope your teammates don't kill them before it goes off

Cuz that's certainly what your teammates will do if you throw it at a crusher/bulwark/mauler

That also means you can easily get collats in scab maelstroms

i did this but a lot more chill

solo scab maelstrom on malice, throwing at groups, running plasma and folding shovel to kill other things to try and proc the elite grenade regen (also running every possible grenade talent too)

got about 120 to 150 each run, very low stress
