flesh tearer allows you to dance around hordes and specials when you cant commit to a target and the bleed kills crushers, bulwarks, maulers dealing 50%+ of their max HP, to me flesh tearer value increases as the shittier your team is, because if your team is bad, you get value out of all your bleeds, otherwise people just oneshot most elites/specials/disablers in sight

when I first started on dt i struggled with how prevalent ranged combat is/ coherancy. I always played with the team but temp hp really can allow someone to lone wolf it at times. Coherency/toughness though? really punishes you for leaving each other behind

I always felt like it was the opposite since most classes build around having their toughness replenish just by playing the game so even when out of coherency it was more like a slight debuff than anything, and dt's toughness system in general just made it really easy to avoid chip

like psyker gets toughness through just killing things and quelling, ogryn gets toughness for hitting enemies, zealot does for charging and dodging etc etc
vet has confirmed kill and VOC

like "oh nooo i'm out of the coherency radius and there's a mixed horde what am i gonna doooo"

just kill everything and take zero damage i guess

Different classes have very different relationships with toughness though

the thing is especially w/ psyker is that it's situational in the case that its entirely build dependant so it def depends on what they're using

Another big thing is that toughness still at least acts like a DR so even if you're hit while toughness is lower you won't take as much damage i thinkkk

Psyker gets krumped if you get hit by 2 bruisers simultaneously

And fully downed if it's 3

But if there's like 1s gap that's enough to fully regen

The issue is that depending on the build the psyker probably will never get hit by 2 bruisers cuz they can just spam something like soulblaze trauma and be invincible to any melee enemy that's not a boss

so like it can def be very build dependant

and KD also exists

cata is fun. ive only got 400 hours in v2 compared to my 1000 in dt so my experiences are sqewed. I do think overall v2 is a more punishing game. Mostly because it doesn't give you the same amount of tools as dt does.

Even something as basic as a dodge slide vastly changes how you interact with this game.Every character also having nades makes engagments different

I'm legit just caseying the oubliette floor's enemies and it's really fun, even tho it's also a bit scary with the spam that optional floor gets

The boss is going to be a hella pain in the ass tho... unless maybe I get a good deflect on it's circle face attack or its stream attack...

Side note: You can't deflect the fucking mini blobs when it goes in the grate x.x

I mean I am able to succeed despite having extreme perception issues, as far as seeing and keeping track of things...

If I can do it, you could if you put your mind to it. That being said, Gungeon is not for everyone

I mean it is rated correctly, I think, as far as what they rate the gungeon weapons and items

It is extremely high risk mid/high reward

Rating it much higher would be false advertisement to players who haven't used the weapon

It does help that I find it extremely satisfying to baseball bat the enemies in the face

This is one of the 1st times I'm actually hyper focusing on using it in the oubliette and 2nd floors. Generally I just mess around with it on the 1st floor, but, I want to use the weapon... It's so much fun for me
