There’s 3 levels of voice changing effect that I know of, the muffled one from (almost) anything covering the mouth, a slightly radio broadcast one from some rebreathers, then seemingly just one full voice modulation mask per class. Test it with literally any weapon on the market. Guns clear hordes faster than it. The best crowd damage you get out of a knife is Executor Haymaker on a VI and it's still worse than Chaxe which also has somewhat rough crowd damage.
