Depends on the weapon. If you can get 1 backstab kill you get value due to the 1 second cooldown on the talent. Stuff like Chaxe and both Thammers have good combos for it, Mk XIIIg Chainsword has a good one too. PAs are good for it since it gives enough room to orbit and farm backstabs.

So, not sure if it's just a me thing or a known thing. But I just confirmed that the "Nothing but the Abyss" penance is bugged, I removed every health boost I had, and over the course of a mission 4-5 times I triggered the perk and got to 50 out of 200 hp and it still has yet to unlock.

Did you play on Heresy or higher?
You are doing something wrong there with this penance, you can try to cheese it with Thunder Hammer special charged attack or just bait a situation with horde, etc.

Overall, this penance should come naturally as you playing. Haven't seen anyone mentioning problems with it during the last 4+ months.

you can proc the passive from crusher overhead and then strike him with chastice + powered heavy attack (try to go for the head if possible)

and then try to kill some other targets during the duration

I suspect the Crusher will also work great

They're two of the best weapons in the game anyway. XV is easier to get the basics of, Crusher is probably a bit safer and better once you're decent with them.

Kant doesn't need full bore, that's better for agrip cuz of the slug shot,I'd just go for something like fire frenzy
This is just me and my bias, but I'd drop the middle two top nodes for twbs and either duelist or melee speed for second wind, but that's just me personally since it's trading good nodes for good nodes that I like more
Normally I'd say swift certainty is not great and backstab cdr is a better pathing node (youd be surprised how often it happens with any weapon) but you already have 0 issues with cdr so that's fine
Also stamina as a curio is not needed what with how fast Stam regens, and the only Stam related thing that's useful is the Stam regen perk on curios but only if you're using a dclaw or push attacking a lot, I would personally recommend stacking all toughness which goes excellent with the 50% tdr on crit and your ability to restore half instantly with your dash

Mk9 has the best light attacks, and the worst heavy 2 and heavy 3. The sweeping heavies of mk9 deal around half the damage of the overhead, and deathblow/headtaker lets you kill 3 ragers per swing with the overhead

You can also tap sprint to get back into heavy 1 on mk9, so it looks a bit like this
