Easier to snipe with, more damage, stacking surgical and having handcannon gives it 100% ADM on everything assuming max rank handcannon, cleaves through a bit of trash so shooting things within horde is way easier
Also hits one shot breakpoints on most ranged elites with a headshot

Additionally in practice it'd end up not mattering because if you are in melee combat killing stuff coherency regen will be off anyways. The only value that coherency regen offers is in combat vs. ranged enemies, best taken advantage of w/ Ogryn's Lynchpin setup where you can practically out-regen ranged fire when paired with TDR.
