The Scythe has long range coverage amazingly down but like, 1. That means you're pulling aggro on enemies you don't need to most of the time and 2. you're doing something that you can ignore by just closing the distance or moving away from the enemies that have no way to reasonably hit you.

With Laser Cannon's buff we now have a laser weapon that can cover long ranges but also can actually do meaningful damage at close range.
