I'm just generally not a big fan of changes like that because it can easily snowball into a TF2 equalizer type of situation where something was so overpowered they decided to snip the weapon in half and we got one that was really good still and then the other half literally became useless and has no real point even existing in the game
marksman's focus and weapon specialist are the most interesting keystones in the whole game
sure there's the possibility that they ruin stuff
there's a ton of keystones that are just flat bonus for doing nothing

weapon specialist really just has the sin of bad upgrade nodes imo

even if they get it off, they can just correct it later piecewise
i think u fix a lot of issues if u swap the fire rate bonus to swap speed as well

there's nothing nuanced that you can implement about fighting 10-20 ragers
and then change one of the stamina nodes (probs the stam cost one) to something that more meaningfully interacts with automatics
i like that vet keystones work better with some playstyles than others, thats pretty much the entire idea behind keystones representing the core idea of a "subclass" branch
yeah it would be really hard to create cool interactions when you can literally turn the game off or DPS check everything in 2 seconds
or when stuff is just 30 of one guy

at least in ultrakill you aren't really ever inactionable and you are extremely rewarded for being good with faster regeneration of hard damage and whatnot
with ragers, fighting them in melee requires that you either hit trade or block trade

and both become extremely impractical when the game spams a bunch of them
besides the trauma/crusher/smite/etc., imagine yourself fighting 10-20 ragers in melee
ragers are an area-denial enemy that punish you if you ever get too close to them
also, the game spamming 5-10 bulwarks at you

Like in ultrakill, if there's an idol you just have to go and melee it to destroy it or else you can't really do anything else

one of the fundamental parts of darktide's combat loop is always having multiple options to solve a problem and being able to skill your way out of most scenarios if you manage to do stuff right
and in ultrakill a lot of the engagement is in doing combos and whatnot
in darktide, there's much less of these combos

But the issue to me is that, again, can't the exact same thing be said for other games with the other design philosophy i mentioned earlier like ultrakill?

it isn't just to make them more of an individual threat, because a single rager in a crowd is already threatening under specific constraints. it's to make gameplay more interesting

ragers rn are genuinely too good at what they do but there's no reason to nerf them when 90% of ragers are shot before they hit a player

vt2 plague monks/berserkers to my knowledge have a lot more counterplay you can do to fight them with any weapon

I understand the point you're going for is to try and find a middle ground where the player isn't so overpowered it invalidates entire groups of ragers and makes fighting smaller groups of them more engaging, but I also do just think that nerfing the player can remove alot of their options and cause it to be less engaging because now there are LESS things they can do to approach the situation
ragers have inflated hit distance, obscenely long attack combos with minimal time between them (so the stagger res is always up), etc

One of the biggest examples i'm thinking of w/ games getting ruined is overwatch with how the developers primarily rely on number tweaks to buff/nerf and balance after their readjustment/rebalance and we can kinda see how well that game is doing now so I just feel like taking a huge leap with a big redesign is a really big risk that can snowball really easily but that might be a dumb take

the question is always why do u have that many enemies and the answer is oftentimes because people aggro every patrol
chargers are more annoying when you kill them mid charge and then their ragdoll hits you and lands on top of you and now you're stuck under a corpse until it despawns ๐ฅน
cause it's not self explanatory that you can shoot charger legs when they are charging/sliding
Or you shoot them with an EATs, they stagger but drift into you and kill you because ping
and their weakspot isn't enough of a weakspot

If you are true Crit build you should be playing the charge right?
Charge knock backs ragers letting atleast 2 of them open to be defeated by melee
If you are precise and quick enough
(scab ragers hmmm I deal with charging revved attack> release> slide before the hit reach to get distance)
Most weapon specials will stagger ragers, if you loop special + attack you can deal with solo ragers without any fuss.
The more ragers there are you just have to bait them such that only is attacking you at a time, then do the above.
Alternatively use a crusher or a gun lol

Fixed an issue where the amount of enemies spawning during missions was lower than intended.
i played auric damnation and it was legit easier than normal damnation
not just because of the team
one mission we got 6 crushers righat at the start of a game that doesnt even happen in auric
could be they messed up normal damnation spawns, as i only play auric and maelstrom, can't say anything about what's "normal" for basic damnation
but it's always a possibility with FS

On steam the post is from 6th 13:38 CET and it says the patch is already live on steam and will be soon on other platforms
i usually do 1/2 aurics for dockets then the rest regular for plasteel

I think that can be a normal damnation spawn on that map with high open staircase at the beginning

my personal favorite at the moment is Uncanny Strike (mandatory) and either Lacerate or Flesh Tearer, if using Lacerate, then it's a momentum build, if using Flesh Tearer, it's a Crit build. Ranged weapon can be whatever you prefer.

If you feel like using chastise, it 'downgrades' the enemy armor by one level for 5 seconds for ranged while still using the carapace perk as damage increase, so crusher groups can be mowed down faster

you can use a flamer or any of braced autoguns and shoot them in the body
all 3 braced guns are viable
basically something like this and you will easily obliterate any obstacles (aka trash mobs) so you can get your target, just be wary of bulwarks and crushers

A few useful things to know about kant shotgun. The special pierces bulwark shields and kills them in 3 hits from the front, and chastising lets you do the same thing you do the everything else to crushers

5 bulwarks and crushers you can just fire special spam and then chastise and clean up with melee
but yeah I wouldn't compare things to ogryn
they are quite busted right now
depending on the weapons and build you use I'd say zealot is the most grounded with a standard build, but you can also make zealot fairly busted
it does but you are gonna have a hard time dealing with several things by yourself, I'd also swap the chorus upgrade for TWBS
the first build is what I would call standard zealot
could run a similar build with a different blitz too if you wanted
and also I'd pretty much always take duelist

low health is the max bonus but you don't need to do it on purpose, I'd just play normally and get the bonus when it happens

that's all momentum is, a stat stick
crit CDR should die in a fire but other than that they are all kind of boring to a degree

uh, mostly that coherency effects spawns on you I guess, and you can regen a little bit of toughness when you are running around in stealth if it's a stealth build

the toughness gen is neat on the left side of it, and it becoming a team buff
but its just kinda so passive u don't notice it
I mean we have, free 25% crit, take less damage and do more damage when you are low health, and build stacks of momentum by moving and dodging to gain more of everything
momentum atleast affects dodges
It's not just low health, wound builds fundamentally change your playstyle
that's pretty simplistic
keystones generally should be the major theme of a build but in most cases they are just stat bonuses
vet keystones are activer and require you to do specific actions to be rewarded
I suppose if you are really committing you can go low health on purpose but there's no compelling reason to do so
all 3 zealot keystones just happen
Dont tell vets that
min-maxing wounds is pretty nuanced
They hate having to "work" for it
none of the zealot keystones really care about a plasytyle. blazing piety really only has the limiter that you generally want a weapon that does something on crits but thats most melees and a decent number of the ranged options
this is why i don't go to vet chat 
take bleed for the emperor, take restoring faith if you want, and then just face tank the game with marty and a spam weapon
my biggest grievance with focus target is that it just has the best stamina regen of any of the keystones or the branches leading up to it
They are still convinced volver only has 5 shots
i will say in blazing pieties favour
crits enable some blessing interactions which can be fun (shotgun crit blessings come to mind) but generally speaking its just kinda nothing
a big problem is that too many crit rider effects are talent based

basically they went from having an infinite cleave sword that did damage vs all armour types and perminent 75% damage resistance to all attacks, to 20 target cleave, needing specific attacks that spend stamina for heavier targets and lost most of the DR (50% when above 75% toughness remaining)
