I agree, I like them more as concepts and then I actually ask myself whether they're truly optimizing the concept or just having silly ideas, and so far I've made 7 or so killer builds

Reading this steam guide my biggest question about the crusher is does it really serve a massive purpose as crowd control when there's a really easy way to constantly use chorus with crit, or simply other classes also have quite a lot of cc from my personal experience (could be wrong) but a few things I've noticed are ogryn with charge, ogryn basher, veteran with boltgun, psyker with force staff, just to name a few other strong ccs in most of my runs so far.

Which means I've really never considered needing it or running it on zealot

100% not trying to be combative about people's choices I'm genuinely curious if there's a goldmine I'm missing out on and I'm sure I'll make a crusher build soon anyways after leveling the other classes

you are constantly putting things on the ground, and you hardly have to really pay for it. this lets you stand your ground in a lot of situations where other weapons have to back up to make space, and lets you fight enemies that you normally have to shoot (such as rager swarms)

crit chorus is close but never going to reach the same amount of crowd control - in fact, in a lot of cases, crit chastise does it better because it will still incidentally stagger stuff (without forcing you to sit there and watch the prayer animation play) and has half the cooldown time + 2 charges

some ults do CC, like ogryn bull-charge, but you get that ult once and then it's done, and oftentimes pub players are using it to knock poxwalkers over or otherwise wasting it pointlessly

having such a high amount of CC and being able to use it whenever you need it without any other considerations puts it leagues above most other forms, so really only certain things from the psyker blitzes/staffs are competing and some of the ogryn weapons (although the most direct competitor, the powermaul, is complete and utter trash)

(you're also much more mobile than an ogryn and can get in and out of situations with much less hassle, so you can apply the CC where needed much more consistently)

Columnus is imo worse than the other two but it has a specific niche of being better than the other two for the Flak -> Unarmored downgrade w/ Fury of the Faithful. It's also just really consistent, all three Brautos are great for being a DPS tool.

What determines damage on an eviscerator when you're using your shred against a target?

Is it the shred stat by itself? Shred + damage? Shred + Damage + Pen?

His build has more bleeding related things than mine but otherwise I don't see how he could be one shotting these crushers with his shred, where as it takes me three-ish shred attempts to kill a crusher with just about any assembly of weapon stats.

crucis is also just easier, crucis can spam unactivated heavies to clear space in crowds, ironhelm activates for crowd clear except if there is too many elites, it slows it down cause it always stops on elites
