knife crit has always worked well for zealot. You kinda have to play against the grain for zealot and hang back and be a little stealthy bout it.
for me; I go hard for martyr zealot with charge and heavy focus on stun and suppressing enemies for a bit until i run outta bullets and grenades...then i huff a combat stim, rev my chainsword and press F and charge the daemonhost screaming like maniac

The best weapon for smth like that would be a Chainsword. Shred + SS on the Mk IV or Wrath on the Mk XIIIg. It has incredible crowd damage that outpaces most weapons by a fair margin.
