My understanding is that if you have a weapon with 30 bullets and a 5% crit chance, on average 1-2 crits will occur. However, because the Columnus has a crit chain of 4, each of those crits have an impact 4x greater, or avg. 6 crits per mag (would be 4 or 8 in actuality). That's a 5% crit chance suddenly at a 20% effective crit chance.

There's some nuance though, I recall puri making something showing it off a bit better.

@south folio so in the damage profiles weapons have a crit mod section. The reason it's inconsistent is because it's possible for it to be unique for each weapon + it can function on a different finesse modifier. Like with the Zarona (assuming 100% stats because I am lazy) the normal weakspot multi is 1.9. Crit mod for unarmored is .3. Therefore the crit damage is base * 1.9 * 1.3.

However for Carapace, this is different. The weakspot mod is 1.5. Crit mod is .15. To find the crit damage it'd still be base * 1.9 * 1.15. It ignores the weakened weakspot mod and uses the base one.
