Mmm was giving crusher a try, does feel quite safe but also feels less impactful due to being slow to kill. Mk4 chain axe also has some cc against ragers and maulers with the lights having auto revs, and kills much faster. Could just be a skill issue cause I'm more used to the axe vs the crusher tho

I rarely see people using it. The ones that do are bad with it or someone is using a weapon that just overshadows the bolter. The swap speed and reload speed is ass on it. The recoil is random sometimes and overall just clunky

In most games you wouldn't try to outsnipe a sniper with a shotgun. You'd just know the damage/stagger at that range would make it a waste of time. And that's fine as long as the shotgun has some other role it clearly does better than the other options.

Basically I dislike that Revolver/Laspistol/Auto/Las/Shotgun/Brauto and probably some I forgot are ALL perfectly fine at killing basically all specials (with the possible exception of some being very wasteful ammo-wise if shot against mutants).

It'd be better if each of those guns really had its own niche. Some are almost there, with Laspistol critting, Revolver armor-piercing, Shotgun stagger. They just need to feel a bit more distinct than they do now.

The aesthetic of a preacher with a shotty would remain either way. (ie nobody's talking about making shotgun a bad weapon, only to give it a distinct role.)
