Im not sure it works like that, you'd have to ask @steep flower however BPistol hits a lot of stuff with the AoE version, so you're effectively capable of dropping everything into tox-death range very quickly

I haven't played in a bit but from what I remember laspistols out performed regular lasguns in every metric other then ammo efficiency
the infantry lasguns could be more useful for expeditions
it's the reverse damage falloff making infantry lasguns kinda weak right now because most engagements are happening where infantry lasgun is weakest for its ADMs while the laspistol has normal damage falloff and excels for the close-mid range engagements you tend to fight in
oh and better finesse
and better crit chance
plus instead of running Headhunter on the Infantry Lasgun you run something like Ghost on the Laspistol so you're safer while doing more damage
oh and like laspistols just handle flak way better
there was someone here saying they take their infantry lasgun into Havoc 40 for dreg seed maps where flak isn't as big of a problem
you can still run infantry lasguns on all difficulties you'll just sweat a bit more the higher you go

using the green ilas. My issue was msotly the ammo-consumption b4 tbh, it wasn't bad but it was enough so that I felt I needed to reload a lot more than I'd like, and during a lot of high-pressue sitches. The Efficiency buff will be AMAZING for that.
ALSO, what I'm super excited for as well is the bigger hitbox for the shots, THAT will be nice for headshots

VII one taps crit headshot on flak gunners with at least 7 stacks of MMF without Exe Stance but needs 2 taps even with crit on 6 and below
with rending strikes even just that extra +10% rending lets you get a one tap crit headshot on flak gunners at 3 MMF stacks

that's without any skirmisher stacks so you could probably end up skipping superiority complex and hitting the 1HKO crit headshot on flak gunners pretty consistently
yeah it can one-tap Scab Gunner with MMF exec stance, even up close. Tho recently Ive been using other keystone paths so it's 2-shots, 1 non-crit headshot leaves it at like 30-40% HP. Can one-shot dreg gunners with 1 headshot somewhat reliably tho.

But it’s a massive amount of investment that take away a lot of good things elsewhere

This is still nowhere enough to hit 2550 on flak head
Even with stance it’s quite far off
this is the dmg I dealt taht didn't insta-kill, so it is 2550 Hp for the Scab Gunner definitely, just confirming that
and to reiterate, at 15 MF stacks + stance, I did need to be at least 13m to one-shot, so ig it's not at point blank also.
Also I have 25% flak + 10% elite dmg on my ilas so that's also another thing.
Unless you wanna throw in another "not including that" then yeah, ig it's mb.

50% cleave node will actually make it so that Agripana Infantry AUTOGUN with 3-5 stacks of Deathspitter able to cleave through A LOT of enemies that other 2 marks can't, even H40 21st moebian.
