What build
Fatmangus
Is there build in website
No clue tbh
I think only I have a gameslantern build for fatmangus
but mine I edited to fit me more
I can't get how that can be seen as other than meme to tank bursters, you are still losing health and with less toughness it would be faster, right?
Can't really imagine people saying this is good (I still have some faith in humanity, fool of me I know)
its a meme but is the tankiest build zealot has
Health stacking zealot with 4 wounds with restoring faith and bleed for the emp
health stacking is pretty bad outside of those 2 talents
actually 3 talents
Shield of Contempt too
Why is the need of 4 wounds? Is to trigger bleed for the Emperor?
yes
max hp stacking gets zealot 356 health (auric) or 286 health (havoc max)
I mean, its the 1st build that I was able to get to end event in a H40 solo on zealot
took 2 hours but I got there
Mmm
I should probably play zealot from time to time to understand better lol
Only two classes ive been playing past 2 years are vet and recently hive scum
I mean toughness is pretty standard normally
I don't think it's a meme build though
it has enough damage to be effective still
Back when fire instantly removed toughness i could understand it
But nowadays I prioritize toughness over hp
It's about health
It's about power
We stay hungry
We devour
Putting in the work
Putting in the hours
We tank what's ours
(Fatmangus)
Heh zealot sized ogryn heh
The self flagellating zealot chanting
Good luck finding those curios
Just as fat, but as hungry?
2k+ hours still don't have 3 stam on all toons
oh fuck dont remind me
doing auric with 3 bombers and 4 flamers on the map
and u touch the fire once and instantly ur full toughness bar is gone
what version you took for it? the shroudfield or the FotF?
Shroud
It was brutal
Part of me kind of misses it though
i miss auric being a challenge
I do enjoy hishock auric the most currently
Esp the new operation map it feels like the spawning intensity is greater
My default game mode
Though I will play AM if the modifiers aren’t shit
Kinda
not an encouraging response really
3VEG Is still my favorite
I used to do a lot of havoc last summer but now I think im washed
Which one is that again?
Monstrosity Nurgle Blessing Better Blitz
"Waves of Specialist Enemies. Nurgle's Blessing (Enemies have a chance to get a buff that makes them tougher). Monstrous Specialists (Chance that Specialists become weaker Monstrosities). Only Scab faction. Enhanced Blitz."
Oh yeah classic
I'm also starting to feel like I fell off
I'm no longer the best Darktide player
Ngl I'm on a losing streak rn. This season has been particularly unkind.
Whether it's the modifiers or the players because I've been seeing some knuckleheads even in 40
im just starting darktide, maybe i can become the next best darktide player eventually
Its time for all of us to grab our walking canes and dentures and head into retirement
Were thoroughly washed
I think it's both tbh
Havoc modifiers are rancid+massive return of players
Idk how they're getting to 40 tho
Ran into a specimen of a psyker with both purge and smite yesterday.
Who also complained a lot.
Rotten armor be like you will use the most boring set ups in game
In a 40.
I genuinely don't know where these people are finding carries tbh
Funny thing is, I was running melee scum. I was doing the damage I needed but also fighting the game most of the time because the psyker wouldn't stop smiting shit I was trying to have come to me.
It was deeply frustrating.
i assume focus target keystone is bad?
how'd you come to that conclusion?
i havent used it but it seems okay but i want to know
cause i made a build for it with plasma but never used it as i dropped darktide for a bit
so i wnna know if its good
its a good damage buff, but often not needed for auric
since you can already build to 1 tap them already
if im doing a plasma gun focus target should i use survialist?
i just like to use different builds for fun
ill prob use best stuff for auric but other than that probaly not
its free ammo, go for it
ill give that a shot and once again thx
piss?
shout
ahh
either stance or VoC
infil is in a rly awkward spot
im liking stance
I like standing 🧍🏻♂️
hey guys can someone help me get the On Overwatch penance? We do it on malice and I would just get blown up by a barrel at the start and my team doesnt rescue me the whole mission
oh also i cant use voice chat
Which recon is the most reliable?
The one with the lowest damage value can't remember the number
I can help u
what's ur FS friend code
8562655802
longshot vs one motion?
On the recon?
ok
in general
Tough to say generally but lower drawspeed weapons like the bolter FEEL better with one motion whereas you might not notice with a revolver. Not 100% on the math but from what I've gleaned longshot isnt as impactful as it reads. Could be wrong on that though. But there are a lot of different breakpoint on weapons so testing is the best way to figure out what you are comfortable with.
also why the recon with the lowest dmg?
Synergizes best with infernus and headhunter crit chains and as a result is very ammo efficient with the correct talents.
What should be my last point and does anything need to be changed? using recon and dueling sword
ok
can we try again tomorrow?
sure just ping me
got it
I would swap rending for toughness bottom middle but I don't think there's any particularly low hanging fruit. Out for blood for generalist toughness regeneration is what I would probably do. Also I usually take the middle right melee nodes but I tend to focus more on melee combat than ranged even with recon. Im also selfish and never take field medic.
Take tfd
And if you do take more melee nodes the next node down bottom right path provides good value.
Why do you have a spare point and not tfd
i ask what to do with my sapre point T-T
You should take tfd
Even with dueling
Oh eww nvm I guess
hey ik im cringe for using it but i might swap to power sword if im using recon
I always pair knife with recon to resposition better. But I also find the power sword to be the least fun melee option for vet.
is chainaxe good?
The ability to ignore cleave restrictions on carapace is prettttttty good
And the mark of chainaxe with single target lights and diagonal heavys is good
what's ur definition of good
it's no power sword
but it's certainly usable
whats good on PS cause im not a fan of it
power cycler and
what difficulty are u playing
wait actually i think it's just sunderer always
Power cycle and sunder
yeah
And that's locked more or less
i think u just go sunder anyway
what MK you reccommend
i believe it's 6
The stabbing push attack one
thx
you do lights for hordes and mixed hordes, and push attack light light for single target
Hits strong breakpoints
poke into overhead will kill a crusher iirc
Yah which is nuts with how fast it is
i dont remember it's been a while since ive done non-havoc
i mean it also has the activation, but yeah it's damage is insane
there's a reason it's the best melee in the game
You can cancel it a bit with the push IIRC
Right mb
Man, I've been trying to level up the Braced Autogun and I dunno if I've ever locked in harder than I did last mission.
I was doin my very best! Right up till I got knocked down right at the very end...
Punished for brrrrrrrr
I can only use braced on zealot with spread reduction on dodge. Feels pretty good.
Does it in havoc I thought it takes more hits
that sounds like it's for auric
no
Yea but combined with Exe Stance, mowing down groups of elites just felt like
just went in hav 40 and it took like 2 loops and an extra hit without any melee buff nodes on the right bottom tree.
with all said stuff tho, it goes to 1 loop and either one or 2 extra hits
I am really hoping they buff Brauto next patch
Esp given that they should’ve been buffed with HIV release to begin with
was that rotten tho
because that'll make it worse
nope
with rotten it's like doing 4 loops and maybe some more without without melee buffs
with proper build it's like a full combo + change
but u can also just spam lights because they'll cleave even crushers
with melee buffz it's 2 loops if u crit early on, 3 otherwise
Why does chain axe perform so much better than rashad despite similar movesets...
Must be the cleave
after using other melee weapons for a while, going back to the shovel feel so fast and so damaging (from fast attacks)
Are you sure you’re hitting the necessary breakpoints on Rashad?
Uh yeah, was a perfect mobility dump i got from melk
I took bromentum thrust i think
Or whatever is recommended in guide
Bromentum is certain
didn't recommend thrust for combat axe
Make sure you can one shot scab bruisers with light attacks to the head
I can yeah
Deci is pain
Fellers, give me the truth
Is power falchion kinda doo-doo or do I just suck with slower weapons?
I played a match with it just now, and each time more than a single rager came, I pretty much accepted the down
Do you have krak
I'm using the uhhh the uhhh sec, verifying files
Yeah
I'm running krak/shout/survivalist like a good boy
I think falchion is like, anti armor?
It's performing fairly nicely, but god damn, that thing is slow as all hell
Yep
I'm getting a bit used to the combos, but at least they're fairly intuitive
Unlike the mk7 DC I was playing, where if you did the wrong attack coming from the right, your heavy would also come from the right instead of the left
And the vanguard light chains into the strike heavy, instead of the strike light chaining into the strike heavy
Man, some weapons
I usually just find a heavy>light loop and stick to that
Unless the entire combo string is specialised
Yeah, it's kind of that for it
There's like light>heavy and heavy>light
Or PA>heavy and PA>light
and then there's relic blade mk2
I think there's also push unlocking a second strike light that leads into the first strike light
So you can push>light>light>heavy
elaborate immediately
I promise to be merciful
the mk2's horde clear combo is annoying
it's something like PA H H L
or PA L H L
too complicated for me
It’s not complicated it’s functionally the same combo as arb maul’s horde clear
PA>H>H is one
Arby maul also has those simple things like light>heavy and heavy>light
Okay, got done verifying files
Bit tempted to change out of focus target tbh, because I just got used to shooting instead of tagging
Elaborate or perish
What gun u running
iron will is like half of vet's durability right there
I got my spicy bolter with this falchion
Power falchion doesn't seem to have any of the things I normally use to deal with ragers, namely mobility and/or stagger
correct
DC can parry, knife can outrun them, power sword can stagger them, shovel can use the special, taxe can use the special and uhhh even old DS had a cool special
does anyone remember math to figure our iron will's effective hp (or tough in this case)
i vaguely remember the equation for regular ehp, but forgot how to factor it being conditional with a threshold :(
I mostly expected power falchion to interrupt them with charged attacks, but I either missed something or it just doesn't do that
falch has very little stagger
i've heard power falc is mid, but i'm no expert
ive heard the same
hopefully it get buffed
Oh right, I can get tier 4 blessings now that I got some more mastery
wdym?
Actually like the falc despite the midness
let's say you get hit by two bruisers, and you have 200 toughness
Without Iron WIll: first hit will take you down to 92 toughness. second hit will erase all your remaining toughness, resulting in 39 hp damage.
With Iron WIll: first hit will take you down to 146 toughness. second hit will take you down to 67 toughness, resulting in 19 hp damage.
@tall torrent did i math correctly
very likely that i fucked it up somewhere
but the point is, iron will is really fucking important
Maybe idk
check me 😭
naw you got checkmated
it technically only matters if you get hit while having less than max toughness
though realistically, everyone takes hp damage some point if playing auric and above
iron will is there as insurance when you inevitably take chip damage
that's assuming melee
against ranged enemies, it's even better
it's just a straight up 50% damage reduction against ranged enemies while staying at above 75% toughness
iron will the goat
combo that with piss toughness from shout and ur pretty durable
or tough regen from the drug that is exe stance to really say no to chip damage
Oh yeah
That’s something I didn’t even mention
Yup
This drooling cat is getting posted a lot
Orange cat activities
EHP is not a great concept fit for this game imo because it doesn’t take into account your ability to replenish toughness
replenishing toughness? that just means your ehp goes up 🙂↕️
Also, assuming u took the damage numbers from kuli’s enemy guide, this still wouldn’t be fully accurate
Because there’s a thing called dogpile mechanic
fking knew it, there's always something 😭
and yeah based on kuli's guide, scab bruiser does 72 damage with 1.5x toughness damage mult so that's what i went with
prob still got the calcs wrong somewhere lol
Enemies in a player’s slot actually deal reduced damage based on how many of that player’s slots are filled
The more slots are filled, the less damage each slotted enemy deals
yeah i figured, but i was mostly just curious math wise what it would be
It wouldn’t be conclusive even if u could math it out is what I mean
It’s just better to have an understanding of how much effective toughness u have
yeah
You can think of iron will as an x1.25 multiplier to effective toughness
Though in actual gameplay it’s often more impactful than that because of toughness replenishment allowing you to gate toughness with it pretty often
There’s not rly any good reason to not take it
It’s effectively a mandatory pick
how did you get 1.25?
If >75% of max toughness, gain 50% TDR
So 25%/0.5 = 50%
50+75=125
i dont understand this part of the equation
i assume this is to see the effective dr of that hp threshold?
50% (from 25% being divided by 0.5)
75% (from the other 75% that’s not affected by iron will)
What
This was always just toughness
Any other fellow kriegsmen here?
I have no idea what any of those names are, all I know is there is a crowd of gunners and by the fucking Throne I am throwing my smoke grenade and going invisible
are these builds in the pinned steam guide for veteran good
hammer of the emperor is the definitive vet guide
and yes the builds are good
Is Recon Lasgun Full auto viable in Auric Maelstrom?
The Recon Lasgun?
yes but you should use melee too
Sounds like they only shoot.
Run out of ammo about halfway, die to 3 specials in a side alley
How dies exactly "kill zone" taleng works?
It says after avoiding damage does this mean just an evade or after 8's of no damage like "catch a breath" talent?
Is hp damage? Toughness damage?
simply don't get hit in melee, and don't block any melee attacks, and the talent will stay up
if you get hit in melee or block an attack, the buff goes on an 8 sec cd
of course the tooltip says none of that

So i need to evade and not block to mantain the buff 🤔
Thanks 👍
yeah if you're about to get hit, dodge instead of blocking
or just say out of range of melee attacks
it's a pretty easy buff to maintain since you're usually dodging melee attacks anyway
and blocking is the second line of defense
So its only melee damage?
Got it, thanks 👍
In this late hour I still find myself pining for a version of Darktide where instead of chaos hordes we got to fight genestealer cults
Only block as a last resort. Better than being actually hit. Parries count as blocks as well, so is something to be mindful about if DS.
Maybe this year... maybe
They may wait for darktide 2
whats the difference between the two powersword marks
I didn't realise the blue Recon Lasgun slow you down when firing?
Don't notice the effect on the other 2 marks
Swing patterns
oh cool
im running the sniper veteran build on the hammer of the emperor guide, should i really follow the weapons they list
or can i use a different melee weapon
You can use whatever you want
Is a 'nerf' in sense. They also have worse fall off from memory.
But you can check the guides on it. Is why ppl usually just use the green one.
One of them is fast swap and fire on the move, one of them is high fire rate but slower everything, one of them is high damage slow fire rate
Higher firerate is good for stacking burn i think but otherwise less comfortable to use
And getting onslaught stacks
Just use the green one.
I think the slower one has some cleave too
Onslaught is an uprising or malice only meme.
Cleaves like 1 extra poxwalker
If you are literally shooting crushers to death, you shouldn't even be in heresy or damns.
But bolter
Like, seriously.
Well, bolter actually kills.
Recon a damn crusher.
You will go old before it dies.
I mostly use it to fuckup the trash while delivering some damage to armor
If it's like a shotgunner pack, yeah.
Recon tho, idk if I like it
Or ragers.
It's a taste, like all guns.
Ragers mixed in with crushers and pox, i just dump a mag and soften things up
Easier to deal with the crushers
I mean, that's normal. What I'm talking about are the ones who just shoot and shoot till they get overheaded.
Those are idiots
Cos you know how tanky they are in heresy and damns now.
Had one earlier in dam
Lvl 22 arbite trying to shotgun while surrounded by ragers and crushers
I can see his grenade icon being yellow
So im like, bruh use your nades
Nope
Is one thing to spray a little to soften+some burn stacks, but 100 to 0 outside of the actually easy diffs...
Unless is dog. That now is kinda weak.
Too nerfed.
Idk, having it survive a plasma m1 is concerning
The boom from dog only kills smaller and the stagger is imo a little too weak.
I missed the head but it has yet to pounce
Oh, I mean dog arby.
Dogsplosion.
You need both charges to do things.
I would assume grenade icon means its nade and not dog zap but hell if i know
Maybe. The new thing confuses me to heck anyway.
I don't see people run zap, if they do they dont even remember to press it
Hecking weird
I see
Well staff m1 is very visible in all cases
Dont think m2 is hard to spot either
Yes, thing was, they just spawned in and we looked. Assumed gunker/meekeeker.
Ah, the free ammo bot.
Extra bot for us to farm res penances
XD
But really, free ammo bot.
0.75% is still 1 bullet.
Free ammo never hurts. XD
Unless you're meleeker...
And then there's an annoying sniper.
Team is busy.
Does anyone have any good advice on actually getting better at the game. I’ve been playing for like 2 years on and off but I’m still getting my nuts crushed on Malic difficulty.
what rating do you need for Toughness/Stamina curios values to be accurate
e.g. a 400 Stamina curio is not actually 3 stamina
despite saying it is
410 for +3 stam
cheers, and with Toughness is it just accurate?
e.g. it says 17% toughness, you get that
im pretty sure toughness curios are accurate
cool ty!
If I'm running a double barrel build with exe stance + WS, what blessing would be good for the DB?
I don't relly like the standard manstopper + scattershot with this setup honestly.
Learn melee combat.
Also positioning generally and when it comes to ranged.
dodge, block, push
while it's possible to play as a traditional fps, it really is melee heavy
get better/good at that and recognizing situations when you ought to use your ability/grenades/reposition/switch weapons etc and the success will come
Depends on what is killing you and what is the issue. Could be positioning, could be lack of awareness, could be bad build and/or lacking the skill to make it work.
dodge block push slide always. Side dodging to move foward like a crab is a very nice habbit to learn. lets you close gaps while charging melee attacks and lets you move around enemies more safely when you prioritize movement over killing.
A lot harder to spam dodge on console though. There's only 1 control scheme that has dodge and jump on sepperate buttons and its kinda shit. try your best to not accidently jump since getting caught in midair means you have no chance to dodge important attacks
2 actually. Alt 1 is the one most use. The other feels more playstation.
also take toughness curios over hp and wounds. 16% toughness doesn't sound like much compared to an extra down but it's way more helpful. It takes a lot of convincing to get people off +wounds, but when they start playing it the difference is staggering
This
Unless you're a Zealot playing a Martyr build, you do not need extra wounds
Thanks you all for your advice. I will try to apply it as much as I can. But applying what I learn is often the reason why I fail math.
to echo kariens question
what's sending you to the floor? what's wiping your runs?
Absolute bs half the time.
define bs
The other half random enemies I don’t see cause I’m dealing with a bigger threat.
do you play with headphones on?
you're going to have to expand on what you mean by absolute bs
lag? server issues?
Idk. Getting shoved into a corner by both teammates and monsters.
And not being able to move.
To say it’s slightly frustrating would be a lie. It’s super frustrating to get knocked because you can’t dodge.
you can practice dodges against the monstrosities in psykanhium
Damn. It sounds like I’m a whining btch
which will stop getting knocked around hopefully
How do I get them to attack me so I can practice.
there's a mod
Or is it like replaying the toutoral.
Xbox player.
what weapons, perks/blessings and their power level are you using?
i'm so sorry
lol it’s fine. Honestly I’m just going to to get on after school and try out your advice.
I often run either a bolt pistol and Chainsword. Or a lucios pattern lasrifle with a shovel
But for perks and curios I have no idea
I just pick whatever has the biggest number.
Yea, you want something close to a 400 rating to have the highest main stat
The three secondary stats can be upgraded and changed later but that main one is fixed
I have both of those build weapons maxed out. I like playing veteran.
Curios is usually just 410+. You look for specific stats and not rating. 21% hp, 17% toughness, +3 stam (410+ only).
Chainsword only deals with hordes, bistol is a statstick gun and you should only run it on a 'nadier build in most cases.
But if the rating is too low, then the stat will be low.
You literally have no armoured clear unless you take kraks.
And those are limited if unlucky so not good.
Also I rarely see anything above 400 in curios
I count myself lucky if I see one pop up
That has the stat I'm looking for, anyway
It's luck. I got 430s as well, all stamina lul.
I have one 430 for toughness 😄
Like the game is telling me I should meme harder.
+9 stamina... wait, I do that on psyker anyway.
Also, on the note of curios, how many times do ya'll take Gunner Resistance?
I have it twice cause if I remember correctly, it stacks weirdly if you do it more than that
None. I live or die on 300 ping.
If server says I ate 700 shots in a tick, I still die anyway.
I get shot while sliding, behind walls and even in bubble at times.
There will be total bs moments that the game will throw at you, and thats not even considering teammates which can be way worse. Sometimes you just get a Darktide Moment™ and it's not worth frustrating over. You eventually get enough experience that you can be essentially self sufficent in auric and enough map knowledge that lets you know when and where the game will want to totally screw you.
I get many Darktide Moments when I always underestimate just how fast Crushers are when they do that oneshot kill move
Now I just go full grenadier and spam Kraks whenever I see ogryns 😄
Actually I take that back, the bs moments are always when the game decides to randomly spawn enemies behind you. Which it will do, just to mess with you
"Oh no, you're facing off a horde of crushers? Let me just spawn a random zombie behind you to get that extra backstab damage in when you least expect it."
Random poxxer? Naw. Stealth mauler funnier.
Actually lately I've been getting a lot of stealth Ragers
There's always another slave rat ready to take half your hp from behind
thank goodness you dont take damage through 100% toughness anymore
Also the same.
Half? You mean kill you?
I call bs cause I've had me guy get hit in the back and lose a tick of health while toughness went untouched 😄
Like it completely bypassed toughness
That was the way it worked 100% of the time for any melee hit before full release. Now it's only big boy attacks that do any damage through full toughness.
half base hp not including the manditory grim health reduction
tinnitus mission modifier that turns off all enemy sfx and spawn warnings except muted gunfire
Yesterday twice in two consecutive match I died to trappers
Specifically being spawncamped by it, like the moment I get the animation to rise after being freed I got trappered immediately without being able to react
I was absolutely salty haha as it happened in same parts of the map in similar circumstances like a Déjà vu of some kind
They're the worst part of the game. Trappers and dogs.
Dogs are far better
It'd be a different story if we had some means of escaping on our own, but no.
More ways to interact with it, it can get kicked off by enemies
Trappers? Yeah no interaction at all
I miss the times where the only way to reliably push a dog off of someone was to use a venting shriek on it, directly.
Just screaming in the poor animal’s ears
I'd call them poor animals now, back then I'd call them something beyond chaos
Those fuckers never got staggered and would fly hundreds of meters in the air and still land back down on you
I already suffer from random ringing noises.
it's possible in the sense that you can pop fairly distant things with the bolter to a reasonable degree
Per shot? No. Overall dps? No. But it can dump damage faster at full auto than Plasma Gun and Hellbore
What perks/blessings do you recommend on the boltgun iib? For H40
Depends on build.
You want to use the bolter like a marksman rifle? Surgical and Pinning Fire.
Hmmm Ok, the one that is suggested on hammer of the emperor. VoC no keystones
Kind of a jack of all trades? Wouldn't say 100% marksman neither going ape against mixed hordes
Can go Cavalcade Pinning Fire or Pinning Fire with bleed
does it put down specials better than helbore
Better than fire frenzy + puncture?
Yesn’t.
why is it so damn hard for veteran to do the one job
Flak / Unyielding are my go to perks, maybe carapace for flak?
Which job
putting down specials and elites
Veteran’s really good at it though.
yeah but im either just doodoo baby at it or my gear's not up to snuff
i already put in the resources dumping everything for this helbore rifle
Weapons synergize with build
And experience + weapons and build
Hellbore decently one taps most things to the head
But you have to be good at headshots
Bolter can bodyshot but your ammo is much more limited, and you’re slower, and you’ll likely not want to waste bolter rounds into a single non-elite shooter
Crusher conga lines get either 1. rapid fire antiarmor, 2. someone's krak
If you have a frag nade instead of krak, you should have antiarmor; be very nervous if someone doesn't have fast reliable antiarmor in your team start screen
If one can’t kill Crushers fast, they gotta be controlled
Uncanny’s always recommended entirely because of crushers
Not even Ogryn's nuke does that much damage
This is why they overbuffed it.
prob for quite a while
tbh I think crying will basically turn vets into reroll eventually
without solving the root issues
If RPG is just single use +1 with node, sure.
it's likelier that they'll buff og nuke
stance is fine where it's at
You mean how busted Desperado is compared to exe stance?
Ye
I'm certainly not complaining. It's nice seeing a group of eight crushers go down all at once. But I know it can't last...
These days I mostly just play rp builds in aurics for the fun of it
Regular Guardsman is fun
Generic Cadian Guardsman with stock lasgun
Stock lasgun, stock shovel, frags
I actually don’t take shock trooper with it
Regular Lasgun is pretty ammo efficient as is
more liek just infil. ES is already VOC-tier
Maybe one day we'll get Longlas or Hellguns
negative
"why is veteran underpowered"- a month after "balance"
Hmm. I’m just thinking, how to get most bang for buck out of recon lasgun.
Pretty sure you just SPRAY.
ES + FT
Into a shotgunner pack.
vet's good rn, it's just infil that's bad
I’ve been running deadshot with it and playing stamina management
well yeah, I'm just snarking about what's gonna happen eventually
Deadshot sucks unless brown mark.
Brown mark
lol fair enough
Back to worst class again?
🎊
Why’sat?
Can't possibly be bad game design or lack of buffs, nope, vet has gotta be punished for the sin of visibly having a viable option~
I don’t normally play with the recon, I usually run shotguns and pull out the plasma when I want to win
other marks fire too quickly and will drain your stam really fast with deadshot
stance is quite strong rn tho
I'm not saying vet has no issues compared to other classes
Thats fair im more vaguepost guessing about the trajectory of fatshark choices
what's that supposed to mean even
Every shot drains stamina, deadshot stops working at 0 stamina.
I honestly don't understand what this means
Im saying i think shouty vet seems more likely to get nerfed than changes to things like havoc spawns or bringing up underperforming classes, thats all
wdym bringing up underperforming classes
are u saying vet underperforms without VOC
Vet is underperforming
We should be better than Psyker and Scum 😈
underperforming classes would refer to ogryn, my poor boy ogryn...
oggy is fine, just pretend the right side of the tree doesn't exist
I think og is strong but inflexible
Witness me
#buffGunlugger
... But why? It's perfect as-is.
One of my favorite memories in this game is watching a fresh lvl 30 gunlugger ogryn hold W+M1 with his heavy stubber straight into the demonhost
Poor guy didnt live
This might be dumb but I am gonna experiment or trying a Stealth Grenadier build where I try use curius with Ability Cooldown and 5% Grenade replenishment on elite kills. essentially I go backlines and spam grenades to crowd control range units or disrupt oncomming Mauler or rager patrols
Would bolters works or use range weapons with easy swapping?
Achlys twink is a peashooter
Gorgonzola Twink has no ammo
Rippers
Rumbler is broken AF
No one cares about GG
Kickback
Achlys Hstubber is the only heavy stubber
Actually
Give Rippers waaaay more ammo
And I'll be fine with everything else
#buffGunlugger
Buff it while nerfing Rumbler?
Like they'd ever nerf Rumbler
Lets fuse the heavy stubber and the rumbler
Rapid fire 100+ capacity grenade launching fire power
I forget the devs need to keep buffing their crutches. Heard a dev plays smyker even.
GG if it was good
Hey. Good day you rejects
Remember that you're nothing more than canon fodder for the God emperor
May your faith in our God emperor never falters
And our havoc Missions go through
The grandfather protects!
I mean smyker isn’t even really that good
It has issues
It’s just fucking unfun to deal with
Notice how there’s no description
I know, but good enough to carry that dev so...
Smyker is making the game harder
If he just went purg he’d do more
Spam inferno
who else unironically likes the cadian personality
i like when he calls ogryn big man
with scion helmet voice modifier, he sounds really good
goes from a 3/10 to an 8/10 for me
I’ve mained him for hundreds of hours
first zealot, now hive scum, is there anyone else veteran is attracted to
depends on which veteran personality ur talking abt
not sure
I just remember m cutthroat being on "good" terms with m savant, m maul and m bounty hunter, and the original 3 ogryn personalities
the new ogryn personality trash talks a lot lol
New ogryn personality is scarily smart
very smart and also belittles like everybody
I don't like him
I mean yeah that’s the point
M cut m savant are such wholesome interactions for some odd reason
I know, but devs stan it so... herp.
m cutthroat + m maul is also very weirdly wholesome
"sweethearts" buttered me up but then i realised how he really was
ofc he belittles them. hes bigger
He’s actually just a prick to everybody for no reason lol
Like u can’t even blame some sort of PTSD or indoctrination for him
Honestly be more worried about bad game design or undercooked classes
in 6 months or a year, guessing the meta will end up unplayable lol
Going by pattern recognition
I'd say the meta won't turn 180° like that
Unless Fatshark goes patch 13 v2.0
fair nuff
VoC, power sword, plasma vet still standing UwU
"OH DONT STOP BIG MAN 😩"
mandated edict: hanging by the balls
VoC kinda mid now 🥱
Also most vets still run DS/Plasma/Shout not PS
Judging by their behaviour they might like it
I know krak grenades are pretty OP for taking down crushers, but when there are groups of 4-5 crushers and a lot of maulers also, would frag grenade + uncanny strikes melee weapon be a good option? stacking up max bleed on pretty much all enemies at once, and then with uncanny strike buffs, the bleed will do way more AOE damage.
asking for havoc 30+ where modifiers make things not so straightforward
works but u can also manipulate the enemy slot system to group them up for krak to multikill
multiple kraks
with the talent that replenishes nades on a timer
With the advent of rotten armor its recommended to use kraks
yea, thats what I normally do in auric or lower havocs. But in the higher havocs, I constantly have multiple bosses spawning + twins + weakened monstrosities, so I cant just afford to spam infinite kraks all the time
Large AoE DoT is already being covered by psyker anyways
I can try to melee kill crushers with knife/dueling sword, which I can generally do If I have space to kite, but the longer it takes to clear a horde of carapace, the higher the chance that one or more of my teammates goes down
im having trouble clearing anything past H28 atm
started playing the game in december, have about ~100 hours in the game
not really sure what I need to improve
For havoc Vet uses Powersword the most
but I also need some sort of focused areas to improve rather than just keep yoloing and expect to somehow get better
Well shredders are still a valid option if you struggle with hordes, but people usually expect vet to bring krak bc of rotten armor
I tried using a psword + plasma gun build. It was really powerful at clearing hordes and killing specials, but both melee and range weapon were really low mobility, so I would get immediately melted if a bomber threw an aoe at my feet.
It takes some practice to get used to psword
You gotta fight your way out of death
Since mobility is poor
That being said, WS helps to improve dodges so also recommended to take with ps
maybe I just need more practice or I got unlucky modifiers, but with plague spreads covering most of the ground in goop and then if a flamer or bomber throws some fire where I am, its just over. Even if im at max health, dodge+slide or sprinting out takes too long especially if there are enemies or objects blocking my way
WS?
Weapon specialist keystone
oh
That's just straight up wrong but you do you lol
even path just uses exe stance melee vet now
your ability being one of the only ways to regen toughness makes exe better while shout you have to play very safe if its not on cooldown
how long does the focus target damage buff on the target last? (not the team one from killing the target)
does it last until the target is dead/ you use it on another target?
the base damage buff only applies if they're highlighted pretty sure
just took a look at the pinned guide again, apparently its for up to 25s before you have to re-tag the target
fem cadian is our badass queen
Finally. After 3 years
oooh
Compared to the rest anyway
kek
cba with psyker
yeah I'll never do all that
I doubt I will actually finish all the classes lmao
I have 2 steam achivements left and i cba to try all the time lol
enlightenment is doing the penances only for the cool cosmetics and ignoring them
It’s a tough grind, be proud

Doubt I will do it with all the classes lmao
I’ve been trying with Ogryn, but Ogryn has some that are just crushingly grindy
Veteran and Ogryn are my two mains
Veteran I have finished, Ogryn I have 2 or 3 left
25.0s, same duration as the tag itself
Me still trying to get 60 peeps in 1 bullrush

auric hiSTG can get that fairly easy now if ur team doesn't instakill everything
and in havoc obv
then just auric
With this being most of the cases I just hope I get it by chance at this point
Team kills the hordes as they should, not their fault ofc
Which can be annoying when you have to kill 5000 enemies with only heavy attacks
Still havent done that either lmao
Again, challenges like that I am banking on pure chance
Oh well… I’ll always come back to Veteran anyway
I like playing my generic cadian dude
grab a slab shield got to mortis trials and stand in a corner until you think you got a enough enemies
Me playing the 110th since I chose them as my guard scheme to paint lol
Never thought about that thanks 😄
did it just yesterday
I forget where the pants came from…
All my vet garbs
wat armor is that
The chest piece is the flak vest from the cadian sets that rolled out…gosh, year before last? It’s been forever since they ever returned
looks so good tho
I don’t recall where the pants came from 😄
And the headpiece was a bundle from a few weeks ago
which headpiece should i use
first imo
become the faceless goon
first it is
You can never go wrong with the train conductor cap
It is objectively the moggiest of all head pieces
The red from the beret compliments the yellow jacket well tho
But it's not as adept at mogging the unbelievers
I use the cap with that brown uniform from the right tree penances
this one?
💪

It's a fit fit
I would kill for that cap with the headset tho
only got the headset myself
Is plasma really flak/unarmored these days?
anecdotally, i got it on mortis by just walking away from my team and pushing chaff until it looked like a nice pile-up
this made it very easy and it took like, a minute once the thought actually occurred to me
Seems so
plasma is lame/gay
its not gay (homosexual), its gay (stupid)
which guide and why?
2 dockets because path is scrooge
but toughness stam health is the ideal yes
you can replace 2 dockets with whatever
He says to replace dockets
Or not to replace
Gives rev speed as alt
is 36% stamina regen better than having 3 extra stamina?
if we were to choose 3 toughness curios with stamina regen vs 2 toughness curios and a +3 stamina curio but with 5% toughness effect
3 toughness curios isn't a great idea because there are enemies that ignore toughness
and having one stam curio is pretty important for pushing and mobility
having one hp is important due to vet's low base health
so the ideal comes out to 1 of each (except wounds, fuck wounds)
is that true at all havoc levels? Im mostly playing havoc 25-30ish. (Regular auric missions and stuff are not really an issue atm)
I kind of like stacking toughness curios to (potentially) be able to tank a sniper shot or pox burster without taking hp damage. AFAIK, from what I read, sniper shot will do 0 damage if your toughness can block all of it, but if you bleed even 1 damage past your toughness, it will do the full damage to your hp. And something similar for poxburster too
that's assuming you have shout
Not sure about the sniper/buster info but stamina is valuable on veteran. They have a relatively long stam regen delay.
hm... I guess ill try running 1 of each then
with cdr, gunner damage, and stamina regen perks
when reviving allies, melee attacks are blocked as long as you have stamina, and ranged attacks still do toughness damage right? If the ranged attacks break through the toughness, does it stagger you out of the revive?
don't think so
I think it has to be melee but I've never actually taken the time to notice if shooters stop you
usually no
Also fwiw I find revive speed to have the most meaningful impact in terms of winning/losing rounds. Admittedly its harder to notice when the 5-15% toughness would have kept you alive.
because I like money and u can afford extra dockets on curio for auric most of the time
it's hard to not like money
as for toughness/stamina/health as curio blessings, that part is normal
can confirm, everytime a new class comes out, i go bankrupt
I've been at 25mil and hundreds of thousands of resources for like a year. I can afford to fully master all new weapons just by sacrificing.
lmao
It's very useful
I use it from a assault build for veteran and some times on helping in my allies using melee
when are todo many shooters
Just chuck it on your team and not the enemy
I view smokes as a crappier dome with some other minor upside
It stops melee targeting half the time
They aren't a troll pick like they used to be
Good against hordes
it shouldn't
Eh, should've worded differently
They stop melee enemies from seeing you half the time
So less melee enemies are going to hit you in smoke
it's mainly to counter ranged enemies, hounds and flamers
but gets hard counterd by bombers
and does basically nothing on mixed horde
it just makes ranged units much easier to deal with
vs 30 ragers a smoke is gonna do basically nothing
yeah that's when I use it
the main use of smokes for me is to blind my team so they cant stop me from sniping every single special in the mission
If you threw a shredder instead your problem would be dead or staggered instead most of the time
Ye
am going into the back with infiltreit
well its not so bad, smokes do a bit of stagger as well so you can use them similarly when impatient about reviving someone under pressure
and shoot with a brace auto gun
Infiltrate vet with brauto 🤔
Agripina?
Interesting build, unsure if good
sounds like a funny way to turboboost brauto bodyshots for zapping mauler packs or something
Youd be better of with shredde4 autopistol at this point
Or any shotgun
yeah
Well I'm not the one running it
I don't actually know how infiltrate builds work outside of lul backstab
well for me it's pretty fun
Fun sure
Agri had such a chunky sound i love it
Im just pew pew and explode when I play ranged xd
I use it more like a inicite a figth with shooters
Fair enough
and help my Friends with smoke
Your melee?
a mix
Good
meele and supression
I usually run shockmaul, powerfalchion, knife, devilclaw and tac axe
Eh chainaxe is to slow for my vet
And chainsword
Would need to use it a bit more
Chaxe i prefer on zealot
Chainsword hecking fast trash clear tho
The rippy chaxe is awesome on a weapons specialist vet with DBS
Db is fun
Yeh
I've been playing weapons i have not played
Heavy sword is nice
Shovel is kinda spammy
Got a good relic blade recently as well
I want to like the heavy sword but can't make it feel right without fury of the faithful
with this
Played some rashad and the entire time im just, i miss my chain axe
Too slow or what
for suprise the back for the enemies and a smoke for my allies to engage
You will certainly surprise them
I think its the lack of armor damage
Takes a year to kill a crusher
but for help my team from the shooters acctually use this build
What
