Redirect fire puts a buff on the entire team based on how many stacks you had on focus fire when you killed the target, it stacks on every kill in the last few seconds

Plasma suits Vet very well which is why it is generally considered the overall "best" range weapon on vet for all skill levels

because Vet wants to use their range to immediately take out specialists, and the plasma does than better than any other weapon in the game

regardless if they are behind other enemies, far, close

having spent a lot of time with both i will offer you my two cents

if you want to examine them in terms of pure damage, the plasma gun generally performs better than either boltgun mark, especially when it comes to ogryns and bosses (the unyielding stat)
it also has very high penetration which also enables it to penetrate terrain. it also causes AoE explosions. there is no table for the explosion info like there is for the boltgun, but in my experience i've hardly noticed how much stagger charged plasma shots cause but it's almost certainly less than the boltgun.
