fire faster?
Enough damage for meaningful one shots on priority targets and not as slow as 4
im only firing once so id take 3 for the higher dmg
it's quite a bit better 1-tap than mk5 with less investment
and not nearly as unwieldy as mk4
what breakpoints does it get that mk5 doesn't get?
yea just waste whole stamina bar
reaper non-crit 1 tap
and some havoc-related ones
doesn't sound worthwhile
yes
well at least i can do the krak granade kills if not this dumb ''weakspot crits''
yea
obviously the sniper able to shoot through the fence but i couldnt. maan this game today.
skill issue
whats really annoying is even with the guaranteed weapon switch mod it still refuses to switch like half the time due to lags
crushers head still takes additional weakspot damage?
yeah it's a weakspot
always have been
hows the power falchion
prob half as strong lol
Goodn't
Still can do quite a lot on crushers but takes more time as it trades the 3 charged shots for the heat gauge
first game in days and crashed instantly on gloriana
the game is telling me something
classic DT experience
ive been thinking of doing a recon las / pfalchion build
8-10 buffs away from being good
shobel...
uncanny strike for my grenades...
i wish bumass heavy sword dont have shitty carapace damage
its very good against non cara and bosses
oh yeah is plasma good now?
when plasma isnt good
i know recon las is finally pretty solid
or you can use laspistol
was doing recon + falchion with the comvined arms skilltree and it was melting shit
full stacks = killing a reaper or bullwark in under 10 shots
Finally?
Dog have you been living in a time capsule
Was the last information you received on the game during the early access period
You're saying these weapons are "finally" good like they haven't been the established meta for what feels like forever
ive been playing since beta and generally only in 1-2 month bursts
last time i played was after arbiter was added
and I rarely played vet cuz their skill tree was dog before the rework (imo)
That'll do it
always has been and always been boring
like i said I never played vet cuz i thought their skill tree was terrible before rework
Power falchion is okay, it's perfectly serviceable in auric tho
Vet new tree still has major room for improvement but it’s way better than before
we getting class reworks in the next 2 years
i like that I can actually branch out and still get a keystone now
by that time we have 10 classes
Vet has much more free access to nades now which is cool
They prolly couldve broken up bottom right side of tree tho
Nah they need to make bottom left, middle pathing, and bottom branches’ pathing to keystone better
Grenades also need tuning
Krak should have instakill override within its blast center
Smoke can still use buffs
That's kinda what I mean, if they broke up bottom right and swapped some talent positioning I think the pathing on left and middle would be better and right would be less autotakes
Frag can use a small nerf
I agree with that, but you can actually path to smoke now without it feeling god awful
Also toughness situation on vet needs to be improved
No
It’s the fact that u can unironically skip all 3 toughness nodes in tree without trying
Shouldn’t even be an option
Oh I see what you mean, they're not like Arbs
Where you will inadvertently take them cause you're forced via pathing
The +1 stamina node should swap place with +25 TGH node on bottom right
So u at least get one +25 toughness
Tbh I agree with that
And then u can easily spec for full toughness by going middle
Be easier to fuck up your tree less if they were obligatory takes too
Bottom half also needs reduced travel
To reach keystone
Especially for bottom left
Bottom left is just so bad in comparison
Bottom left doesnt have enough meat to get there imo
There's nothing like reciprocity bottom left
Or IW middle for bottom left
Bottom left defo just needs more
Both GBITF and opening salvo need to go
I personally always like more Og Damage
Covert operative can also go
OS is honestly such a trash perk
I meant the middle section as in, the center of the tree
Right above aura
That part is ass
lol it's so trash
maybe we should make it a subnode for infil
would fit right in
helbore fuck
What are the most vital/go-to stats when it comes to curios?
toughness
was new class revealed?
Toughness. There's a surge in people selecting revive speed.
Gunner resist is pretty standard across the board too ime
Nah, tomorrow iirc
Should i have 3 that are all in toughness then, or would it be smarter to have one in stamina?
If you mean primary stats its really common to run 1x 3 stamina on vet ime
my recommendation is
main stat: toughness, health, stamina
perks: toughness x2, gunner x2, stam regen x3, revive / docket x2
1 stamina curio is nice
did they not promise to reveal it on 11
1 health curio prevents 1 hit instakill in havoc
and generally helps vs chip dmg
Idk man, I barely pay attention
18th (tuesday)
Cant you avoid poxbombers with 1x 5 percent hp?
Its on the 18th now btw
delay of some kind caused it to be next week
class releases on the 2nd of december
yea, and then u have 5hp left
Hey, it stopped a one shot
meh, just do a health curio at that point
Tbh I was just making sure I remembered right
does more vs chip dmg
I run 1x toughness 1x health 1x stamina on vet
I tried 2x toughness with 5 percent and yeah you survive but if a PB is leaping into you you prolly got other issues too
And any chip fucks it
Was more acceptable when VoC had permanent uptime
Is this the best possible toughness curio?
hey guys, any tips for da Falchion?
why you answer at all then
use mark 1
why is that?
and you really gotta be careful with the charge
dps drops by like 70% against hordes with the charge gone
for whatever reaosn, the heavies on falch are really slow
and mk1 has the better moveset
(you can avoid using heavies entirely, which ups your dps noticeably)
Could you tell me what the highest numbers are for stam and max health, if you know?
Because i had the answer for your original question.
it seriously take 2 buisness days to load the H2 of the damned falchion, is it a bug? it feels like a bug
I think you gotta roll a 420 rated stam for 3?
prob just laziness when they ported over the relic blade animations
A Curio also has to be level 420+ to actually have +3 there's a bug where it shows it but it's false iurc
just needs to be 410 or higher
Yeah, I couldn't remember if it was 400 or 410 that rounding errored
Wait, whoa! The item rating matters for curios?
Defo
oh
Oh. So it has no like hidden stats or anything. If i pick the biggest blessing stat number, i should be fine?
just check the blessing stat frist
first
that's all that really matters except for stam curios
check the rating for stam curios cuz some of the +3 are fake, as mentioned above
Just making sure, this one is fine right?
Absolutely
cool
Is mobility or heat management dump on Falchion? Mobility I suppose?
mob yeah
starting to consider giving up
What are you using for it
me?
Yes
What weapons
Oh ok yeah that would do it
Vigilant is not the best for weapon spec
and those perks need fixing
its the best for what im tryna achieve only for first shots
Revolver is better for it
is it?
It benefits from free crits and Always Prepared much better
one perk iirc gives me like a percentage of ammo for each stack of ranged stacks
while my ranged is holstered and shit
Yeah revolver benefits from that better
It rounds up
so 1 stack is 1 round out of 5 despite being 3.3%
but the revolver doesnt have the deadly accurate and opening salvo does it
Yeah but its base damage is more than good enough
isnt the spearhead boltrifle better then? it also has high dmg
Run and gun, point blank, surgical, crucian, maybe even gloryhunter
It draws really slowly
Bolbgun my beloved
it's still quite slow
Its also got worse finesse so it scales off crits much less than revolver
Id say try the other mark, it doesnt do the 2r burst on hipfire
Its really hard to beat revolver as a pocket sniper for weapon spec builds
this good enough?
i tried but has less ammo, less dmg, and like some explosive effect
that often sets off nearby barrels
I like it more than the mk2, but yeah. People got mixed feelings about it
i like to use it when i run a full melee build, it still does amazing dmg to bosses or crushers for example
Bolbgun goes brrt
Its pretty good, someone shared a build long time ago that just kills a boss magdumping your bolter on it
There was also the fabled single fan revolver boss build
I wonder if you can still make that work
well with 3 stacks only
did 2200 dmg to a rager
in heresy
though it was dreg
so no armor
weakspot crit
It be like that, I just like weapons that clears waves and deal boss dmg at the same time
vets in my games be like
fair and balanced
the thing is tho it doesnt really matter much what weapon i use
the setup is the same
and it is so slow
IS there any way to make the recon lazgun good with voice of command
THE basic bitch meta build
7 points to put into whatever
but yea i guess with more dmg i can play heresy at least and make a bunch of dockets and diamantine
matchmaking is better too
question: is there a field where the Heavy sword performs better than the Taxe?
horde clear for sure
but you obviously give up a lot...
have le meme revolver crusher tapper, so wanted to figure what weapon would work well for it, the sheer mobility seriously its a big bonus
tbf you do already have recolver as a mob stick
so it's not the worst thing ever to take hsword
because horde clear will be your other big concern if you're using volver on crushers
yeah, but its quite weird how effective Taxe feels, Hsword Caparace damage def should not feel that bad
that's a new one for me bingo, good job finding more ways how the game is so broken
yeah i haven't retested but i'm guessing it's 10 seconds straight of wacking a crusher
imagine having one tab open in a browser
to kill one
Hsword oberhead: 350 Taxe overhead 497
one of those is IMMENSELY slower than the other and on crit does MASSIVELY more damage
Seriously MorbidlyobeseShrimp, give Hsword SOMETHING!
there is 0 reasons it should not hit caparace harder
btw, why the special swing cant stagger more than one rager at a time?
chain axe no bueno?
cause it doesn't have cleave 👍
the question kinda is "why NOT?!"
I mean it still the best horde clear in the game not counting inferno and psword

cause the hsword can one shot ragers and doesn't super need it 👍
plus vet have helbore
force greatsword
cant on havoc
Oh it 100% can
yeah this one no
fgs is servicable but I wouldn't say the horde clear is good
even counting special from time to time
on a right side build, yes? i was testing it with left side to see how the weapon itself behaves
It's not time to whack every poxwalker to death with it
It is time to build and use 1 special bar
Which is about 7 seconds
I get the one shot even on exe builds
funny: with a crit, the Hsword ALMOST kill a dreg rager from havoc
with no melee investment
I mean there are so many better one if we're talking melee horde clear
literally unmatched in terms of melee horde clear my man
like
nothing comes within a mile of fgs clear speed
Warp slash go brrrrr
specifically the mk12
The XII got buffed the Mk IV didn't
the mk4 needs the same no more cleave limit on its heavies
i prefer the XII still tho
word? how you run it?
anyways yeah hsword one shots havoc 40 dreg ragers
takes 4 headtaker stacks but like
headtaker is so goddamn easy to stack
dont you love when some clown shittalks and then quits the match
now let's see the crusher dps
:(
hsword with actual carapace damage no diff psword
imagine wacking a single crusher for like 13 seconds straight
i see vet talents also got changed
on aurics
it's 500 against auric
yeah so 13 straight seconds
of just whacking a crusher to the head
to kill a single crusher
carapace hp buff is totally needed
it not gonna make op weapon better and weaker weapon worse or anything
god dude even going out of my way to get both MMF and Rending Strikes it just doesn't do shit
hsword just needs a rework
I did it
i'm fine with it being weak agaisnt carapace but this is a bit much lol
Havoc 40 with friends that got carried by me
genderman
the thing that i find weird is that Taxe has good dodges, stagger that can fight ragers, decent horde clear, and can be build to crit krump caparace if you want
seems a lot of advantages at the same time when Hsword stager capacity isnt that crazy
you can mitigate it with movement
that's because fatshark forgot about the heavy sword
I managed to get 800dps by using onsluaght with recon lasgun
People care way too much about every weapon being good into carapace which is applicable to 1.5 enemies
taxe is better because it can actually deal with crusher
but like
exactly
thats why I uploaded the DN meta build
I mean it dictates your weapon choice
so people understand
I'm not running hsword with anything that isn't named "helbore lasgun"
Bolter has shattering impact
Then just toughen up and swing your melee right
Is not as bad as people think
yeah it isn't bad as people think
dog
it is worse
Yeah it just has some REALLY significant downsides. I like the weapon still
it's 500 dps
but it is mad bad
Tbf. I think MMF rending is bugged
And doesn’t work
But yeah it’s tragic lol
That's because Hsword isn't capped and can reliably 1 shot everything that isn't carapace or big

the thing is that it almost feels that Hsword is overshadowed because stuff like Taxe has so many perks that make it safer and more attractive as a safety tool
seems to work to me
Are you guys not using the strikedown>special loop or something
if hsword have carapace damage then it probably the second best melee in the game lol
But not everything needs carapace damage
yeah that true unless its a melee wepaon
honestly i think it should just get roughly the same crusher ttk as it had before
maybe a bit better
Its not like it is completely and totally incapable of dealing with crushers
Which is
1 enemy type
yes it fucking is incapable of dealing with crusher
Out of the how many enemies youll have in a game
unless you're playing like malice
basically if you take hsword, you really need to shoot crushers
or krak them
Then thats just a skill issue
😭
crusher, mauler, plasma guners
Like idk what to say
no matter how good you are, it'll still take 10+ seconds to kill a single crusher 🤡
bro probably think dclaw is good or smt
skill doesn't increase ADMs
for 1 purpose yeah sure
this
Its like saying that duelling sword is bad cuz it isnt amazing at hordes
@slow sky when you would take Hsword over a Taxe in a Havoc game?
Its 1 property of the weapon
okay
not being amazing at hordes
is not the same as being completely incapable of killing carapace
yeah it like ds have mobility and shitload of single target damage
dsword has massive single target damage at the expense of hordes
hsword has great horde clear at the expense of single target
which makes this a fair trade off. wait it feels like i'm missing something...
OH RIGHT
dsword has insane fucking mob
being able to kill a crusher is mandatory
idiotic comparison tbh
Probably in a helbore exe build
But id still prefer dclaw in that situation
Yeah
i mean i didnt needed to bring Dclaw to dog on Hswords even MORE now

dclaw have like way worse horde clear
dclaw deserves to prosper
but whatever
It does have worse but im using it defensively, not offensively
But if I didnt care about that, id use heavy sword
i mean it also has kind of insane damage profile on cleave
yeah still take forever to kill not poxwalker
it really doesn't matter when your base damage is bad
actually kinda good weapon
You must be cheating
I mean that isn't a "horde clear" situation but lol
I'm also deliberately not using the parry
mk7 is goated
That video doesnt fit my narrative
wait, mk7 is the good one? i have been using the mk4 all this time
I mean sure its not likr you straight up coping about hsword being usable against crusher
yeah
Mk4 is the easy one
mk7 is better overall
But as of the moveset tweaks 7 got way better
better pa
The fuck is this
💔
The only thing I think hsword needs is its specials impact to be raised to meet crushers stagger resistance adjustments before
So the special/heavy loop can build up a stagger in 2-3 hits again
cole I don't think you understand how many orders of magnitude worse not being able to kill carapace is
compared to being bad into hordes
staggering only mitigate the problem
because that means that if the horde has carapace in it you can't kill the horde either
not killing thing fast enough is a problem in havoc
you can't just take your time
Staggering controls the situation making it easier to deal with
And prevents giving up ground
Which is extremely important in havoc
not having something to kill carapace is a death sentence because it means maulers, scab ragers, and crushers hard wall your melee
you won't be able to use that good horde clear because carapace blocks your cleave, and unlike weapons with good carapace you can't just single target them to get rid of them
But the issue is people are thinking running heavy sword = you cant kill crushers
You can with the sword, slower than other means
But you also have your gun
Grenades
And teammates who are under the mindset of "the only viable weapons are ones that instantly remove carapace from the game cuz idk how to kite"
This too
There are very efficient means to enable that damage too
Onslaught, shattering impact, etc
would it be bad that we give the Hsword special some cleave? feel that making its stagger tool more reliable on mass can be a good thing to make it feel like its actually heavy
Hell the 2 best psyker staves have brittleness blessings and someone's prolly running one if its havoc
Brutal momentum
1000 DPS is far below what I would consider "can kill crushers" territory
Considering you have to use onslaught to get that kinda dps in the first place
mate, i mean the special, the hit doesnt cut all the way, it stops on the first target, ven pox walker hits,
would want that to swing so it can stagger more enemies like ragers
I forgot which hsword it was but its group combo doesnt even use a cleaving attack, it uses the upward scoop (which is a strikedown) then the special, both of which easily proc bm due to their high first target damage
You mean "good at killing crushers"
Like holy do we only consider weapons viable if they make every enemy explode instantly
Hsword doent need to be GREAT at killing crushers, but it should not be a multiple office day task
crushers have 6000 fucking health
1000 DPS with setup that requires you to use another weapon is going to take like 20 seconds
And you have other weapons and teammates
20 seconds of the weapon being completely disabled because ONE crusher is there
damn i just discovered where the magazine for the recon lasgun is and it's so cursed
Use kraks to cover the weakness
Wow suddenly the heavy sword doesnt need to interact with its weakness
On zealot use fotf
you can't krak every crusher you have a problem with in havocs because there's too many of them there
yeah zealot can just FOTF them
which uh
only does 3K damage
that's why that kind of weapon should be the "ranged gun's that kill caparace but have no horde impact"'s best friend
good, Zealot SHOULD be the melee class thanks
ehrm that's arbites
are we forgeting that current Veteran numbers are quite bonkers?
If its rotten armor then hsword isnt a good pick cuz you are fighting your weakness all the time while they have ranged dr
that's the "Lets bonk this riot with shock mauls and a K9 squad" class
I mean I'd consider that well within a reasonable timeframe for 5 crushers
For a weapon that's bad into them
And nukes everything else
You are still also proving that the weapon doesnt have great carapace damage
When I've said countless times you have guns and teammates to help
I just want to say
I mean it get worse on zealot because there just better melee option and you don't have blitz/ranges option to deal with crusher
Remember when ainz did a full vet hsword run on 40 with no sources of rending and no guns good at armor
If I thought my teammates were capable of even pressing their WASD keys without guidance and assistance
I wouldn't be playing exe vet
Kraks on rotten armor also get insane retention because of demo team
I'd be playing with a hell of a lot more support talents than I do
Exe vet is literally one of the playstyles that relies on your team more than most tho
Idk how to feel on that argument, i saw goated people use GARBO to win H40
I mean ainz is good n all but getting 4 stack is fucking impossible
that's not a great metric
If you're not just spamming them willy nilly, it's quite difficult to be at zero nades
People use pre rework ogrins with ROCKS as ranged weapons to win H40
Havoc 40, 4 vets all with smoke grenades
Heavy Sword and Tactical Axe gaming
I don't really see how since I can easily keep it up by myself doing melee shit
And it gives me incredible self sustain
And my latest vid
because its the less self suficient, not incapable to do its own self protection?
people diss on shock maul, but i like it
shock maul is decent
Why the FUCK does combat axe have higher stagger
It feels like a disabling-Shield breaker-Debuff stick weapon
more utility than BIG BONK
Okay. Real talk.
You may want to try your shovel db build with exe stance.
shock maul still not being great into carapace but like
this is the baseline
no rending nothing
it also doesn't nuke every fucking health type quite like hsword does tho
i feel like its the quintesential support weapon
1K by default can be made usable
Ive thought about it but I have 3 reasons why I really dont want to
The forced swap always throws me tf off
The fov zoom sucks ass
And the aggression that the voc stagger allows for is too valuable for the build
FOV zoom on weapons you dont want to zoom its PAIN
wait you ppl are moding out the Exe stance zoom?
uh yes
...
you have to be insane to enjoy it
going from like 100+ fov to way lower feel bad!
I use the FoV mod tbh
I like zoom to see more clear the heads i click
I find it ridiculous that that isn't just an innate feature to turn that off.
it's technically cheating but no where near that one psyker mod
When I quite literally get motion sickness from the zoom, I think there's a point where something can be considered an accessibility issue
I like it because i want to shoot far away enemies and my stupid eyes are not enhanced to do it natively
need hadron to replace mine with better ones
Its for double barrel
You swap to melee and your eyes are 5 feet in front of your face
You feel like youre in danger the entire time
It's not for long range shots more than making your shots compressed as fuck and do more damage
On top of the info, stun immunity and regen
You can play pretty damn aggressively with it still.
I genuinely like it because that extra zoom makes the enemies heads super easy to see and click
1000 hours exe vigilant autogun
wait wait no I got a better one
And I deal with melee enemies with peripheral awareness than actually seeing tgem
If I try to focus on melee enemies I would get dizzy
I don't really care about that specifically for double barrel
And it overall just feels weird to me to suddenly have that zoom
DB is goated already to need such overkill like Exe power
oh my god no way they fixed the fish eye effect from stimms layering over infiltrate's visuals
Exe stance significantly decreases spread
It actually matters quite a lot.
I mean that you don't "need" it, not that it isn't a nice buff
By this logic, you also don't need shout either.
It's not that it's needed but it's a noticeable help to make double barrel even more lethal than it usually is.
Reason why I use it as cc to make room to run back instead of pissing on me team 24/7
And would argue that while noticeable it's not needed, but that is dumb ole me
"more deadly than it already is" sounds crazy to me since I already think DBarrel is the weapon of choice of Big E
It covers the one major weakness db has as a weapon.
Will have to give it a try at some point, I even tried it with stealth so why not?
whats the mod to remove exe fov change, is it ConstantFov? sorry for lazy ass question
ty 🙂
What are the optimal combos for the devils claw mkvii?
What does "cleave on weak spot hit" mean on hellbore lasgun? Splash damage?
While on the subject, best hellbore lasgun variant?
ok, who is corolla enjoyer here? 😄
The likelihood the shot goes thru enemies on weak spot hit
jtclive made a video a year ago iirc
if melee/ranged atk by ranged weapon hits an enemy in the weakspot, it considers that enemy's mass as 50% of its original value, which potentially allows that atk to go through an enemy it normally cannot go through
Can I ask why you pick Hammerblow over other blessings like high boltage and opportunist?
Its safer and it procs SC more
Any of the new mks good on vet? Thought I should ask
Mks of what
Mks for what exactly?
another question (and last): you have some concept of what maps you would pick smoke nades over the others? or that decision would be more team dependant?
Sorry I was talking about the bound by duty additions
if its open
Boltgun and boltpistol specifically
comms plex has gurenteed ranged spam at mid event
New bolter good, new bistol not good
new boltgun is nice, not same role as the one before
new boltpistol is ass
I wanted to ask if there was conclusive 'best' power falchion mark
Mk1 I think. The one with the light stab.
I learned how to play with Psyker great sword recently and got a build I'm super happy with so I'm moving to explore veteran
would still need to make a list for what maps need it as a must, thanks
Is there any particular reasoning behind mark 1?
Thanks, and can I ask how the boltgun fulfills a role?
Is it more on the lines of big enemy stun or am I missing something?
Concussive grenade launcher is how I'm getting it
Because the heavies on both mks are ass and mk1 is the one that has a light sequence that's decent for both horde clear and single target, assuming it's charged.
And assuming you're not fighting ragers.
Because both also have next to no stagger.
Did I mention the falchion just also isn't very good?
cuz it powers off
When it's unpowered, it is genuinely one of the worst weapons in the entire game.
single shot accurate hipfire + bigger explosion that does stagger & minor dmg
it beats checks notes unpowered powersword
Maybe I should just go learn zealot relic blade then first haha
it's prob the most underbaked rushed-out-to-meet-a-quota weapon FS have released in the game yet
So its like a hip sniper?
kinda
they've got similar movesets
so you def could
It's in a weird spot where it doesn't really do enough charged to be worth using over the actual power sword while suffering the same exact issue that the power sword has, which is that its just awful uncharged
And power sword being so bad uncharged is a deliberate thing because it's insanely powerful when charged
Im a huge fan of the power falchion myself
no map is a must and is helpful for all maps
I'm just mostly looking for a really reliable melee weapon
Since I like being melee oriented across most of my characters and plan to try that trend with vet.
Power sword mk6, Rashad combat axe, tac axes, combat knife mk6, shovel mk1 are all pretty reliable for vet rn
plus good crit synergy
Makes sense
I admit I still struggle to respect crits
Not because I think they're bad or anything
I was just an ogryn main
You're on the class where you should be.
Yup just matter of practicing/reinforcing that
A lot of vet's offensive potential comes from their crit chance/finesse
I mean. You can make anything work if you're good enough. Nothing is really a "throwpick"
That being said
Infiltrate is arguably the worst ability right now.
For vet.
That's valid, I just like to have 'clutch potential' as a general build theme so I tend to want to be well rounded with some tricks up the sleeves
it's not even arguable
it just is
infil is very funny with a stealth bomber build
but it really did get fucked with the tree rework
VoC then.
Granadas, the Shredder ones iirc
You could prolly change it to whatever you like tho
it's not nearly as good as the other 2 abilities
Man the worst part of vet is trying to decide what weapon to go with haha
Ranged that is
vet has a lot of good ones within t0~t1
stealth bomber build
Also what's the dump stat for rashaad axe?
Like plasma gun, bolter and plasma gun
mob
those aren't the only good vet guns
honestly
are there any guns on vet that are actually bad lol
i think all of them can be made at least usable
yea
What's the most common blessing on rashaad axe?
well i guess stuff like ilas exists
Or refinements, I should probably start looking at builds
BM + headtaker
Depends on what you wanna do but yea, helps that vet's hole shebang is making guns do more gun
Headtaker + brumentum are mandatory
vet's a hybrid class now these days
but yes ranged is still very strong
i would go unarmored cara
unarmored carapace
Sounds good
I suppose I just don't have enoug hexperience to know what weapons I'd want to pair with tactical axe
So I'm considering just focusing on learning Zealot class again first.
Bolt guns seems fun but cumbersome weapons as I'd like quick options to killing ranged enemies
range spec builds
Combat axe sorry, my brain is bit sluggish!
I like melee focus or emphasis even if I'm doing it on vet and that was recommended to me
As a very good "Useful in all situations axe"
tac axe's strong suit is that it works without much talent spec and offers a lot of defensive value
but it is not the best at dps
melee spec hybrid builds
Got it, also I know this heavily depends on build
But is krak grenades more popular, or shredder?
krak prob best vet nade atm esp for havoc
tho it is more costly to run due to needing a really stupid talent tax
frag still rly strong
smoke got better, it's ok but can still use more buffs
Honestly
I'm considering smoke because it's funny and underused.
I just need to figure out and make sure I understand placement or ideal cases for it
smoke is not complex
throw it at where u want to be
this is not a CS smoke grenade
this is more like an assassin's creed smoke bomb
Alas I never played that
But I think I get it, I just don't want to make habit of throwing it in most inconvenient places
Is there any ranged weapons you'd suggest to be paired with rashaad axe?
Smoke is just x time of no getting hit by gunners, no need to overthink it
Ah ok
it stops most specials too
will keep it in mind, thanks mate
Though actually out of curiosity, I wanted to ask on your opinion with power falchion in general as I understand it isn't super popular yeah?
I just find powered weapons neat so I was thinking about trying it.
havent used it
except when it doesn't
Valid enough
I remember getting netted while being is a smoke last time I played vet
Doubt it was fixed
so not 100% consistent
I think they also can just randomly hit you like usual
its performance is under stuff like rashad, who doesnt need to manage a resource, so it's a little underwhelming
it's supposed to be a more agile power sword
what it is rn:
half of power sword's single target dps
way below half of power sword's mixed horde dps
abysmal performance when not activated (which u will have to cope with)
no good atk for stagger vs rager groups
big movement slowdown while doing heavy atks
heavy atks have long windup
same mobility stats as "average"
to be fair, Psword damage is busted
yea
Makes sense
So flaws and no real upsides to it?
Or is there upsides, just that it's marginal
Rashad takes like 3-4 hits to kill a crusher on a solid build
Psword does in on a PA+a light
well
it's not horrible it's just not "good"
also its blessing pool is abysmal
i like the vfx and sfx it makes when powered on
so there's that

That feels like a recurringissue, the blessing revalance patch needs to happen at some point
i'd say it's genuinely a decent weapon when powered on
problem is it's often not powered on
december 2027 (5th anniversary)
issue is that it needs to be powered on
i was shooting for 3040, that is a big improvement
Makes sense
Thanks folks! I might just try to grind it up
Just to get a vibe for it and then switch to something better if I feel it's restricting me.
Part of me is worried I'm leaning on very strong weapons as crutch because I feel unusually powerful using psyker's greatsword and I'm worried that it's less about skill expression and that the GS is ridiculously good so could be fun going with underdog pick
Valid
Psyker being op is both infuriating for me and lore accurate
Would I be hamstringing myself hard trying to use power falchion as melee oriented veteran/hybrid? I understand if it's less effective all rounder. I'm just asking in case there's some kind of intensely bad/garbage coverage with certain mobs or matchups
it can work, you just need to plan ahead
i.e., not have the weapon power off when a crusher pack shows up
You need rending to do reasonable carapace damage
Got it
It also struggles against ragers yes?
Might have to pick up a gun that can deal with those if so.
tbf mk1 actually has pretty good crusher damage. this is under ideal circumstances, but even without rending strikes it's usable
yeah you'll need gun or blitz if a pack shows up
I also need a gun that can actually pick off things at range
I don't have good understanding of vet catalogue, but one or two things that comes to mind is maybe revolver or bolt pistol with the explosion knockback blessing that Ainz recommended to me once if I struggled with ragers
Should I assume mobility is the dump?
On a hybrid build it’s ok
It’s just facing really tough competition
Understood!
Big appreciation to all of the questions being answered!
Is there any recommendations as far as paired weapons for this build to have good coverage?
i would take frags but for ranged weapons you can run whatever
Also could you toss me the build link for that to use as frame of reference?
smokes goes into their eyes and they get angrier
Damn, so only if they shoot? I wasn’t sure if it messed up enemies ability to hit you in melee or not
they kill you....
New ability upgrade, pepper spray smoke
Best melee vs rager spam is just this
like this
Ran through the gauntlet…
Lmaooo
I actually might want to try solo stuff it seems interesting
And good way to become good
its very good learning experience and removes lag
Nooo
and removes the worst modifier in the game
I want to blame lag for misplays
teammates
Dumbass
i can't believe ainz is fucking dead 😔
But yeah I’m just bit overwhelmed by veteran weapon catalogue for ranged options so if there’s any popular hybrid builds weapon that works well with falchion I’d welcome any recommendations!
BOY im kinda surprised how in spite of psykers having SO MUCH power i still see so many die like crazy or fail to kill even the most basic trappers even when they are marked and stunned by a storm-nade
what guns do u have atm
Oh not much right now I have bolt pistol leveled up and few other things but very limited. It's more about "I want to grind up my mastery for a worthwhile gun to compliment as I grind up power falchion too."
it's crazy how a class that lets you ignore basic fundamentals of the game, also makes it that you also don't learn those fundamentals
Mind if I ask what is busted about psykers specifically
Don't get me wrong, I definitely felt the power
uh
revolver?
I'm just not sure if I can articulate how or why it's so potent
"what is busted about psykers"
you could write a fucking college essay regarding this topic
there's not much that isn't busted abt psyker
but
the main 5 points are
- soulblaze's ability to scale DPS indefinitely into density thanks to talents & blessings
- psyker's weapons that straight up don't interact with cleave therefore further nullifying density
- psyker has busted CDR (yes even after CDR rework and nerf)
- psyker's direct dmg scaling is ludicrous for how many buffs u have (u quite literally can spawn in with 22.5% base crit chance on a finesse class)
- smite
Generous or overtuned talents that makes them better at certain roles than others or etc etc?
CDR?
I'd argue psyker's CDR is even worse than it was before
This is a team-based game; don’t fall into ‚single player’ mindset - nothing worse in such games than a bunch of individualists
It's just that it's also fully selfish compared to how it used to function
Which kinda makes psyker even more powerful in comparison
psyker is so busted that even if vet could run 5 blessings on power sword (BM + cycler + sunder + slaughterer + rampage) to be able to 1-hit kill 4 ragers per swing, vet still isn't half as strong as psyker
They're (were) glass cannon character in a game where its possible to just not bet hit whole also pumping numbers the whole time
They are not a glass cannon.
They were
This has not been the case since the rework.
I'd imagine there's a trap, but I think there's still useful lessons and habits to learn if you are not reliant on other party members for it
The DR you can amass with psyker is actually nuts.
Or is capable of confronting all threats on your own as needed instead of explicitly relying on someone to deal with something because you lack the finesse for it
Ofc; i learned such things however in a team not by playing solo
Is TacAxe good and if so, which variant is best?
Tac axe is great.
Mk7 or 2
Run with headtaker brutal momentum flak unarmored
This is non negotiable
Perks blessings wise
Cool, thank you
It's more of a personalized training is how I see it. You can learn it in a team environment but it's less consistent and harder to know what the takeaway is when there's more variables.
Is mobility still the dumpstat?
Yes.
nah
"Am I doing good or am I only doing good because I have a teammate that is unknowningly supporting me and thus my flaws." so it takes a little bit more time to sort it out.
unarmored carapace
Alr time to go roll one then, this tacaxe I got has Crit Bonus as dumpstat
Bromentum while it's amazing
Then i'll upgrade and put the right perks and blessings on it
I think u can get away with carapace instead of unarmored now that Vet has cracked melee damage
I saw some that dont even pull their melee in spite that EVERYTHING is already on fire, like USE YOUR MELEE! ITS MORE DAMAGE
There are other options if you want something that can amass more raw damage on a single target
I'd take it for consistency anyway
no, unarmored still good
Oh is TacAxe a better single target weapon?
Like shred because crits do a lot for your carapace and unyielding damage
flak however not needed
It depends on what you want to do with it
Tac axe is a very good fit all, low investment melee weapon.
I've personally been running shred + headtaker because crushers are annoying and crits help a lot against them.
Was gonna run it along side bolter but idk if it's a good match up. Just ran this build i'm testing with Bolter + Combat Axe, not sure if I got the right perks/blessings on it tho
Makes sense, I played exclusively melee psyker build so haven't done much with soulblaze, or smite. But greatsword to my understanding is ridiculously strong. and I did notice scrier's gaze being like... 10 seconds CD consistently for me haha.
I also run mk4 with that setup because mk4 uppercut + special chain is very potent for single target damage
Along with good stagger
Oh right, cool
But mk7 is the easier one to use overall
I'm just tryna see if Bolter works well with Executioners stance so tryna find a good melee option to go well with it
So was thinkin TacAxe or Combat Axe
Bolter does in fact work well with exe stance
and I'd say tac axe would be a better fit because of mobility purposes
I like the instant draw on activation, very nice
Makes sense, i'll probably try get a good tac axe then
Feel lucky, only took 2 attempts to get 60 mobility tacaxe
also
A note.
Tac axe is the one weapon that doesn't really need trench fighter.
So depending on how you wanna set your tree, it's particularly efficient with that.
Yeah was thinking of not running trench fighter tbh
Tbh idk if there's anything worth dropping for something else in my current build
not the only one
DS also can skip
falchion debatably too
Falchion?
That's a surprising one
Honestly the attack speed feels crappy even with trench
Or rather
Not the attack speed itself but more the animations?
Falchion just feels weird.
Could I get some feedback on thsi build btw please? Feel like there's probably some perks that need switching around or certain things that could be dropped. Not really sure
It can do with some work.
For one.
You really, really want One Motion.
Even if you have Exe Stance, you still want to have a consistently faster swap speed for Bolter.
True, I forgor about that perk tbh
Two, you don't need that node right under the shredders.
Three, you really don't want Get Back in the Fight.
Four, you don't need any more nodes under 25% ammo but, if you do want one, stam delay is just much better. It's debatable as to if you even need 25% ammo tbh but I get why you'd want it for bolter.
U need to invest less at the top and more on bottom right
In general ye
You want bottom right nodes if you're going focus target tbh
There's just too much damage you're losing out on not going down that side of the tree.
Just light spam on Mk 1
Tbh I did feel the build was top heavy. Didn't realise bottom right was worth investing in.
Also yeah, the 25% ammo feels useful for bolter, I tear through ammo with this build a lot more than with others and it's noticable
Anything in particular I should grab from bottom right tree?
The nodes in particular are Reciprocity, Desperado, Agile Engagement, Skirmisher and Exploit Weakness.
And the +25 tough in the center
Those five nodes are a big part of why Vet is considered the second best class rn
Because they just result in so much extra damage
Those nodes are damn near must-takes and mandatory for high level play.
I've dropped get back in the fight, the shredder node, and everything past 25% ammo, can only get down to Skirmisher on the right tree
You can also just vomit grenades for 3 extra points
Also dropped The Bigger They Are
Not sure what else to drop so I can get Exploit Weakness
Honestly.
Which perk point is that for?
I know grenadier is a good node for shredders but
3 nodes
Ya might wanna just take it off for the sake of this build
Tinker, demo team, and grenadier
Might try that then tbh
Oh cool, tbh I've wanted to do a grenadier type thing so might try that on another build
I do wanna do that at some point
I wanna get this bolter build workin first tho
Never tried db tbh
Here's the build retooled with the changes, kinda wanna grab that 25 toughness node on right tree but idk what to drop for it
Running with 2 Toughness Curios and a Max Health, not sure if I should change that tho
Remove the 8 stacks FT node
In place of 25+ toughness
You may also want to consider removing a node at the top for The Bigger They Are
I did have The Bigger They Are but dropped it so I could put some points into right tree
Also thank u everyone who's helped
