So free nukes for me. 100% more damage?
smoke have the same radius as dreg bomber gas smoke
More blinds for all.
https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkTide/comments/1lmdp3a/combat_shotguns_still_feel_like_theyre_missing_a/
I dont think they know its supposed to be a more ammo lighter variant of Exec Shotties
I don’t think they op tested the new agri
What blessings should I run on the Bolt Pistol
lethal proximity is pretty fun and good for crowds
Ye
Veteran is kinda crappy at high lvl havoc idk
Range focused build that is
Shouting build is still feels okay
only really works with 2 guns
Helbore can one shot havoc 40 crushers which is...absurd
Bolter 2 shots crushers, maulers, and reapers, and 1 shots everything else
both do extremely high boss damage if your aim is on poiint too
You can single handedly annihilate a monstrosity before it even reaches your team if you don't miss
Also speaking of Helbore's absurd one shots it does so much damage that it still one shots most enemies even with pus hardened skin
Which is relevant to mention since that god awful modifier is back
is this good build https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2UtjAJ10j0?
comment and let me know what i should do for an off-meta build?
why not, I dunno, try playing with it? that's the only way you can know for sure
the brainrot build
why
plasma, voc and DS
The stranglehold Plasma + DS + VOC has on the Veteran community should be studied
I have no such weaknesses
flamer never truly left
1000 deaths on chaxe before I touch duelling sword
if you perform like one of the vets i just played with, its a matter of weeks at most

Lethal prox if shredder frags, puncture to help with breakpoints.
easy movetech as well
just learn how to L1H2 loops vs hordes and mix PA vs elites
also run with a 3 stam curio
its a blender
until you have to face carapace
Chat if Fartshart doesn't release this set soon I'm going to lose it
That’s a cool set
I want that green set for my Veteran so I can do this.
1 sec
Imagine this set
with the green top instead of the red one.
Then you burn all stam pa it's face.
Errr, no. 7 shots to kill a crusher.
Trust me, I run knoife bistol since forever. Don't bother shooting. And yes, all 7 has to hit the head.
When are we gonna get real psion armor.
Never
The Styx recolour of the same set was in the last rotation
Styx?
It's still in rotation but
that doesn't work with the psion helmet
just ES
ES?
executioner stance
oh
this + the scion helmet = 10/10
Plasma gun I mean
Rashad Arby is fair and balanced
rashad ps knife hsword taxe
take your pick
If you hate those, well uhh, there's less efficient choices like shovel.
Also, ps is Power Sword.
That's all the horde clear.
Oh ps seems nice
until high havoc rashad still deletes hordes and everything else
rashad has bromentum
What would be top pick for melee for vet?
If we ignore ds
power sword probably?
PS/knife6/rashad
with the caveat that rashad loses some value in high havoc
but otherwise the roles/identities remain the same
i'm sorry what
rashad is literally one of the best horde clear weapons in the game
but you do need a specific setup for it
check pins
it's basically either 0 or 100
if you build it wrong, it's utter trash
if you build it right, you're a god
I want to go as meta as possible
I am aiming for havoc
than take PS for sure
me running methhead shit like this in havoc and it works
uhhh check pins
Hammer of the Emperor guide
most of it is still up to date, and the PS section is up to date for sure
What the scallop
Cara elites
Maybe use a gun that is actually fun
revolver is not fun
Bolter
bolter is kinda in a same spot tho
I mean yeah plasma gun is fucking powerful
but to manage ammo AND THE OVERHEAT
hell no man that is stupidest thing ever
You have 7 shots or 8.
Is easy. The delay before shooting is worse.
You literally dont have to manage overheat, primary fire vents for you
delay is painful
gonna level with you here
yes it feels like absolute shit
but why not use weapons you actually LIKE using?
there's still a lot to choose from
like what
brautogun my beloved
what is viable in havoc?
Bistol, recon, hellbore.
Recon lasgun, revolver, bolt pistol.
they take too much time to kill elites
Though hellbore has similar delay shooting.
Y'know you don't have to rush through the entire map all at once?
this is just running in circles really
you are just asking the same questions repeatedly
arbites shoots 1-2 times from his shotgun and literally everything is dead
even bulwarks
and etc
I want similar kind of thing here
like I want to actually do damage and not just fucking wait for my gun to charge and etc
wanna top the leaderboards with selfish ammo consumption? play bolter ES
ES?
executioner stance
You may have to manage your expectations
Play at a lower difficulty then. No one's gonna judge you for that. It's just a game.
This is the silliest thing I’ve heard
or just play ogryn or inferno psyker
Try weapon specialist Revolver
if all you want is damage
Then play Arbites then.
Ws with hellbore and shock troop literally gives you inf ammo
Mk4 hellbore my beloved
Guy says Arbites gets 1-2 shots but doesn't just play Arbites...
Feels like bait since we all know the minmaxxing required on vet to hit breakpoints on the best weapons.
as if shotguns have much lower downtime than plasma
heat management when all you do is left click and auto vent
plus WS let you bypass reloads
Look, too hard for "newer" players.
Vet chat rn
"I wanna do damage and kill elites fast"
*is given the ability to do that exact thing*
"Ew no hate it
Is why, why not just play Arbites then?
Yeah, but then he complains about the small vet weapon pool not being his taste.
If thats so Vet to me atm is feeling like Chicken thats been cooked for too long and has 0 spices added to it
very dry
Can still be eaten, but you have to be starving.
Vet is still playable, but it struggles with everything.
Compared to the other classes.
Its still got purpose, its just incredibly dry
You can rescue dry chicken by cooking it with chicken flavor noodles.
Ammo dispenser.
That's buffing the class. Not really happening till after zealot.
Unlikely they'll surprise us with a double tree rework update.
I am switching to psyker I guess
cause vet feel incredibly dull and bad to me compared to any other class rn
...I'm talking about chicken
tho psyker lacks survivability a lot
yeah he has shit tons of damage
but no way to save his ass
I'm translating it into the vet analogy.
this build sems nice enough? https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9f42961c-c5a7-4655-ba88-8e62f89ffeeb/commissar-vet-build-auric-maelstrom-havoc-40-krak-grenades-bolter-and-voice-of-command-makes-the-world-go-around
alright finally getting back to vet whats good on the helbore
and I'm too dumb to know what an "allegory" or "metaphor" is
gimme a fucking break
I'm talking about CHICKEN
ok this feels kinda fresh lol
I like it so far
surgical / weight of fire / amourbane
Look, add it to a soup and it'll work.
Like literally, if you have dry chicken, you can cook it with chicken flavor noodles, and the broth will make it not dry
finally someone who understands me
Is the choice of weapons because you’re bored of using everything else?
The tac axe mk 4 guh
Any soup.
you know what's up
You might think chicken soup is stupid, but once you're sick and bedridden, that's the one thing you go for. Search your hearts and you know it's true.
build guide recommends using boltgun on poxers and groaners
who thinks this? I will kill them
Chicken soup is life man
fucking awesome build
damn it this is like 90% what I want
I might switch from a bolter to something else tho
Light spam with head taker + deci gets pretty destructive
and chainaxe on bursters?
it fucks up flak dudes pretty bad
crushers and etc
chicken noodle soup
chicken rice soup
chicken potato soup
vegetable soup with chicken
you have to be genuinely fucked in the head to not like chicken soup
true
soup is just generally great. I think it's largely because of the savoriness of the broth which is slightly unique for foods
doesn't suck, just not meta
why it sucks tho
More, I buy the cheap end of day rotisserie chicken for $1.50 and use it for it. XD
Has its cleave capped
I mean it kinda fits into DS category for me cause
who tf uses ds for cleave to begin with and
Rotisserie chicken is literally the meta IRL
Just another unexplained mechanic to make melee combat opaque
Nah that's duelling chicken
does the chainsword have its cleave capped?
Buy 1 hour before closing.
I don’t believe so
they should cap the cleave of the DS to 1, that's the one place it belongs
It has a funny interaction with wrath
Dive it out of the trashcan 1 hour after
I hate that stupid bolter unholster animation
why tf you are hitting you just making it slower for yourself
ffs
This isn't possible here.
lights are capped at 4 targets
wow
heavies at 7
but its not a linear decrease
you get a steep drop after 1st and 3rd targets
Goddamn
honestly im finding respect on the humble Exe stance with Bolter and new Helbore, near 1 shot to H40 crushers is insane (an uncharged folowup gets kill)
Forgetting Exploit Weakness + Serrated adding to even more stupid damage
if you can position yourself correctly exe stance is quite the refreshable gun juice tbh
You know you can sprint cancel the pull out animation or QQ it
actually thats reloading it
QQ is for Reloading
if only the officers of the Lex would stop running around like chickens and smack the lone walker so i can kill the gunner army (had to kill an entire platoon wile one was flailing at me)
if its just 1 random you can just dodge at the audio cue
while focusing something else down
be me
darktide ability
restore full toughness
Lock down nearby enemies
hearty damage boost
utilized to reposition, assist teammates, complete objectives
be infiltrate
Pic unrelated
Hearty damage boost... For 5 seconds. At the cost of a talent point
it was doable, my issue is when its like 5 of them, had that happen in the middle of my exe stance far too often
Infiltrate doesnt have damage boost because no one takes that perk
It's still a good joke
i cant controle that the pox walkers spawn even from the bathrooms when i JUST did house keeping around me
Veteran has like 5 talents that give you a damage boost on using your ability
Helbore stat dump?
The best one is For the Emperor.
Cos everyone gets it. XD
5? i thought they were 4 tops
yeah dont think i ever had a build that uses all
Stability
the 5s duration buffs are such a bait
ifonlytherewereanabilitythatletyoueasilygetintopostitiontoutilizethose5sbuffsimmeadiately
the vets combat axe any good never really used it?
Executors stance
It's so simple
got a lucky drop
afaik the Combat Axe is a pretty good weapon overrall
what perks and talents are the go to?
that doesn't fit my narrative so im gonna ignore it
and i guess which mark
for blessings the hammer of the emperor says Brutal Momentum and Headtaker for the most part
that tracks
the rest is up to your own needs/preferences
okay didnt know if the marks had any real affect on swing patterns
thats the only thing mks have an effect on?
is reginald dumb fuck?
swings and attack stats
in regards of builds in darktide
I've heard a lot of people criticize him for bad builds
I tend to like my melee weapons to be cleavy because I prefer my guns to do good single target damage. So that's usually how I decide the mark/perks on them
i meant if any of them had a prefered patterns for what they do (ie swings versus chops)
Ngl the Devils Sword feels great after the buffs
Was using it in havoc 30
Was dealing with the horde quite well
I personally like his videos because he tends to be pretty mathematical on his approach, but each to their own
I think hes smarter than 99% of darktiders cuz he actually puts together builds instead of asking discord/gameslantern
🤡
he also knows a lot about the mechanics of the game, a lot of his videos helped me a lot
does it still not cleave more than 1-2 in 40
i love the devils claw and use the mk1 extensively
but in high havoc savage sweep and rampage cant proc
Wonderful retort person who i do not know
You're very welcome!
Never cared for it personally, lacks 40k flair
I wanna get one eventually but I agree that it does look a bit lame
which feels odd saying outloud when my preferred fire arm is the Braced Autogun
Longshit spotted
"Meta Plasma Gun"
longshot

Blaze Away Rising Heat
There's no meta here
Wth
😭
wudda fhck does longshot do
Its bugged and does nothing?
it does dont listen to this bozo
Wut it do
you probably run wep spec and gets hot lmfao
+20% dmg when enemy is 30m from you and less dmg the closer they are
It does something, if you are at sniper range.
goddamn that sounds like an awful range
Gets Hot and Rising Heat are the meta blessings

The alternative
Is Blaze Away Optimized Cooling
GL finding decent spots for it barring a few maps on long arse bridges.
its not useless but it's just what you grab to get ex takedown
Most of the time gun fights will be in the 12.5m to 25m range barring snipers.
Or below 12.5m.
Depends on how open.
So, basically does little to nothing.
Just go middle or right at top.
I feel like most weapons would be grappling with damage falloff at that 30m+
You can only use las weapons that isn't recon.
They have reverse falloff
just read, idk, the text at the bottom of the build? Don't like longshot or ex takedown dont use it but it does have value
yeah 0.6% value
If that's what you think
If you think 1-2% more damage is good, be you then.
I can't believe this guy gave me a clown emoji earlier
And that's assuming wider maps.
longshot does something, it is just not a lot most of the times, the other side of the tree is just so much more useful
yeah, it's situational to the point where it is going to be a -1 talent point in most of your games
? You act like taking longshot is the whole build lmfao
You can see how short it really is.
You act like it's a good node that does something.
swap hot shots position with the reload node so i can have better reloads ;\
Fatshark if they were smart
I don't think neither Exhilarating Takedown or Volley adept are worth a -1 talent most of the time
yeah? I act like I read the node and understand how to use it while thinking what nodes are under it.
At least someone understands why ppl skip the left side top.
Thought you mean either.
One Motion + Out for blood + 5% movement speed are consistently good all game with a lot of different setups and situations
Or more, "I think neither of them."
But yeah. Middle and right gives way more in general.
I've never used middle, Coherency is something I always kind of give the side-eye. Maybe it is a lack of trust in my fellow humans
Sure, one motion isn't as good for fast swap guns, but it's good for slower guns. And we know hellbore is on the menu now.
L class
It's a set up that requires ppl sticking. Can work in higher havocs but O4B just is consistenly better then.
You mean sand?
CADIA SANDS
yeah, I think it is just generally a safer setup
I never looked it up and it might be just delusion but I have an impression that one motion also works on grenades
It does btw.
Is why you take right as Grenadier.
I hate sand
O4B is hilarious with boom spam.
It's coarse
why doesn't veteran have a grenade based keystone
I ate sand
Is mean, is what Cadia is now so...
Ah good to know that I'm not just delusional lol
waiting for quick toss smokes that detonate on impact
and waiting for all abilities blitz and auras to be connected to the same travel node
It's just more noticeable if you run kraks.
Any talents that require people to not be target of an attack is a meme to me
CAB is already hard to use in such a game but is a billion times better. Mostly since blocking attacks still causes it to break.
And if you run Power Sword... Wat is dodge?
playing vet again. jfc it's so much harder than arbi
What’s the best weapon for the make every shot count penance? I’ve been having trouble with the combat shotgun. I have one with 80 rounds, does it go any lower?
double barrel still prob
use only double shot
longshit is indefensible
and you'll get it
late to the party but dont take longshit

I love the power sword but this is so true
pretty nice infiltration buff
double barrel and do the train mission
Awesome thanks
I was originally doing assassination missions
usually only for recon las
I know. I tried using PS, not my thing. Most ppl rather not misinform others on nodes.
Only if you run recons.
Dayum, did my first havoc 40 and I got true survivor and the penance that require you to not get hit by a single melee attack
I mainly use the Power Sword on Veteran because it feels like it gives me a quick solution to being flanked. The Special plus a Heavy usually is enough to give me space to run away from something
Feels* so good, the teammates are goated
I get it, but I do love my mobility. XD
Even if Arbites is ruining it...
Well, I still have my bistol.
I think the Devil Claw might be a better alternative for what I need out of a melee weapon nowadays
but idk how to use that weapon yet
It just really sucks against flak from memory.
Or was it Cara.
One of them.
uh mates
how in the world did I get this?
4232
HOW
FROM WHERE?
I HAVE NO IDEA
Event.
what event??
It handed out like 4k of it.
Do Inferno missions 10x to unlock stuff.
Go to mourningstar, press tab.
The hit the button to swap pages.
It's back+x on controller.
Flip to the current event.
But that plasma isn't that good though?
You want a thermal dump.
If you don't wanna minmax.
OHH LMAO
i was like bruh what event where do i see this i just got 4k of that shit
just repeating a build
well time to inferno
Do note it's a 1 time thing. So check where you are first.
do the rewards end after the 4k dia?
You still wanna do at least min 10 for the frame.
Naw, there's more. Why I said to check the event checklist.
Just to see how many to collect everything.
What does +cleave% stat do EXACTLY?
Is it just more targets hit per attack?
Or does it also improve damage distribution
and what happens if my cleave is 1 and I get like +30% cleave
i think it just gives you 1.3 cleave
And what does 1.3 cleave mean?
Oh. So even worse than I thought.
you can cleave an additional 1.3 hitmass?
which i think is like 2-3 more poxers
Depends on difficulty.
1.3mass is about a single poxwalker actually
or chaff equivalent
forgot the actual value
and no, melee weapons dont start at 1 cleave
poxwalker is at 1.5 iirc
considering elites and what not have much bigger mass
alongside the property of stopping most cleave in general
just as example, I know very little things have 1 cleave
Wait till you fight the mobians. XD
technically its how much mass your weapon can go through
it does not improve the damage distribution
ye
and each unit has an individual hitmass associated
bigger targets have more mass
each weapon has a separate attack and stagger cleave values
ye, I already know that
for example thammer can ragdoll lot of enemies but will only damage the first 2 (or 3 i forgot)
wait the combat axe is kind of cracked, what is the recommended mark for this one?
Rashad.
I have 800 hours in darktide and I just never knew what exactly does +cleave do. It was just more enemies hit
Is why ppl just call it by the mark name.
THe other two marks are.. meh and dumpster.
You never know what does fatshark mean, they are really bad with decriptions and names
ty ty!
antax is good
I know one is usable but meh and the other is a joke do not use unless masochist or trying a challenge.
i think kuli should have a guide explaining the various game mechanics on steam?
Rashard is best
Antax is good
3rd one is shit
And no reason to use any of them over rashad
ok this weapon has the funniest Heavy spam of all the melees lmao
Axe murderer vibes
yeah pretty satisfying
Ehm, hedchopper.
idk if the laspistol is a good mix with it but fuck it, I'm just leveling weapons anyways
Which Marks do you recommend for Caxe and PS when you want them to not suck against hordes but also being able to deal with Elites? Edit: Just realised you probs talked about that 5 msg ago
what other ranged options are good for vet on havoc 40?
I am digging plasma so far but I'd like to have more options
Laspistol still good gun, use the fast mark.
Rashad and Mk 6 PS.
Well, the newer mark.
I think that's the 6. Not ingame to check names.
The one where the Heavies are just horizontal or the one where they are diagonal?
Hot take hour, what Veteran talent tree node needs a buff the most?
Go
yeah that's what I have, just a bit painful against heavily armored targets
voice of command
You know there's a bunch, right? Longshit being the one everyone talks about cos you know. Covering fire is just a worse ver of Canine Morales but doesn't affect the vet themnselves.
I mean, las weapons generally suck against armor.
but not if youre unhinged enough
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9nBh7uT7Ug
what are other good options in regards of ranged weapons?
for havoc 40 that is not plasma
I am thinking bolter tho ammo in a mag is an issue
quite an issue I'd say
Thats spicy. I love it
I use Bolt pistol
was this guide update for new shotguns?
Recon Lasgun
or Heavy Las Pistol
for special sniping?
I have never seen anyone use combat shotguns
no it hasn't been updated in months
This list is pre update but move all the combat shotguns up one tier and thats about right
they can do some pretty nasty headshot damage
or shotguns in general outside of ogryn and arbites
the updated shotties are pretty good
You know I have a recon build just to brrrrrrrrrrrrrr crushers.
Onslaught user detected
so only double barrel is viable LMAO
even for special sniping?
Look, it's funny on malice. >_>
Combat shotguns* sorry
DB got a buff but its a nothing burger, stays about the same
what's your obsession with havoc 40
Some people only care for HARDEST stuff.
I mean shotguns are viable, not the best thing you can bring but they put in work
been my experience as well
fuck that noise
havoc 40 has like 2 loadouts
I just want build variety ngl
1.5 loadouts
Wish devils claws got better flak adm and new blessings
i play about 5 in 40
I am kinda running this build so yeah
Crazy take lol
so any weapon suggestion would be appreciated
Havok is meta slave simulator for 99% of people who play it.
im exaggerating, im sure the actual number is bigger
I really like recon lasgun but it sucks against carpace and etc as I feel
Auric > Havok
You can take Onslaught and waste talent points/ammo, or just Melee Carapace like a sane person
what is onlsaught
Any reason you don't see much Surgical + shattering run together on Bolter?
brittleness on repeated hit
Its decent
anything i should change on this?
Calvalcade is a bit dumpy (when not on zealot).
Puncture seems underwhelming (but I'm prob wrong)
Shattering I guess doesn't help much into bosses, (though I didn't dump collateral, and went mobility so could).
So was leaning towards those 2.
nah its good
Pinning Fire is slept on, I run Pinning and Surgical, Flak/Unyielding for H40
hardly slept on, its recommended in paths guide
has anyone done havoc 40 with a lasgun tho?
yea every one, they are very good
except Infantry Las
its mid imo
usable but mid
No ammo issues with bolter there?
usable but mid, my favorite
is this for havoc?
how do I build it with this build?
like what blessing which mark etc
nope auric
Depends how hungry your teammates/ How heavy your trigger finger is
Not really
check your crusher breakpoints
fuck math no
combat shotgun kind of fucks if boss gets staggered
literally take off elite damage and see if your BP changes in psykh
no math only testing
Btw how is the helbore IV post buff
what about other stuff like elites and specials
slug em
they die fast or no?
ill do it tomorrow
like 1-2 shots
I just want my auric heresy back. Lower breakpoints but more shit fun.
no just test in psyk lol. takes like 30 seconds.
hmm I actually might go with shotgun or recon lasgun
tho I lean towards shotgun way more
Helbore still one of my favorites
Typically just worse plasgun but might feel better after the buffs
so it can do havoc 40 right?
Helbore slaps
I wouldn't be saying it's a favorite of mine if it couldnt clear any content in the game
shits out dmg, for free, zero ammo pickups
dump mobility I presume
punches carapace
Stability
If you dont like the ironsights can also just use the weapon attachment mod
stability? doesn't it affect damage and pellets
Weapon sway
Thought you were talking about Helbore
yeah then mob
damn it so it is bad in havoc
recon lasgun it is then
@hollow birch so yes or no for combat shotgun?
I have no experience with vet and thats why I am asking all this
I need to be sure 100% to go either shotgun or reecon lasgun
oh fullbore is a blessing
what is slug in blessing?
wtf rayman vet
Agripina special ammo is a slug
It procs Full Bore reliably
Nice goggles king
shotgun good after buff?
it seems so, I see a lot of zealots using it
but not a lot of vets but then again, I don't see a lot of vets in general
Most of them are Arbites larping
They are all using infiltrate because other classes are Op
so it is good in havoc right,
whats infiltrate meta?
you take infiltrate specifically to not be meta
Infiltrate is the VoC Brainrot detox
It hits really hard yes
https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9eca2931-6ed1-4ac5-85f0-0531c49b23d9/vet-havoc40-reconkrak
I went for this build
instead of knife I use DS
definitely been enjoying helbore for high havoc
what is dump stat for recon tho?
collateral or mobility?
Collateral.
oh
You ever heard of a series called Dark Souls?
that's an obscure one
no i have not heard of dark souls please elaborate
little known series "dark souls"
I love niche and obscure classics like call of duty
crazy what's out there if you do some digging
You might like it, its made for people who like a challenge. It's pretty much the litmus test for a hardcore gamer.
where are you going with this
🗣️
All this niche and obscure talk
You've never played a souls game really?
And not a single mention of Minecraft
Played DS3
That's how niche it is
Elden Ring is casual
Where im going is im trying to figure out who i'm talking too is all
Idk I only played a little bit of it
ur the first infiltrate vet i've met
cool
What was ur build in ds3
dont remember but it was standard big sword big armor gaming
Fair enough

decided i wanted to do a nice havoc 21 just to have a different challenge than auric maelstrom
twins, scab captain and two chaos spawns at once
eh
welcome to havoc
combat shotgun dump stat?
mob
it's the one that doesn't effect your damage for like 99% of weapons
glorpility
adept assassin is still kicking my ass, but learning melee weakspot kills count for the penance and a hi intensity dark communion raising me from 57 to 92 helped me out
i just pushed a poxwalker and it ghosted and he just walloped me to kill me
pointless
is the normal sight or branx forge sight better on the bolt pistol
is this good shotgun build,
wtf is thinking
something chatgpt does
so true
when the teacher asks you to write down your name but the chatgpt servers are down
I had times where I test something and end up still doubting what can be done to fine tune it up, so I kinda get that questions, sometimes you can't help yourself to be sure so ask second opinions
true enough but this guy has done nothing but ask for Havoc 40 viable builds
Me who adjust all my builds, even smoke stealth ones, to be Havoc worthy: I get the spirit but he should aim to H25 if you ask me, H40 will always be about meta
Hell even H30 is quite crazy for the average pub folks
And gets annoyed because all the H40 builds uses weapons he doesn't like or something. Vets need to minmax the hardest of all the classes to get a viable build.
does anyone have combat shotgun builds to recommend ?
Havok40 is just meta simulator for majority of vet players.
You have no choice unlike the other classes. You don't minmax, you do nothing but be an ammo dispenser.
I wanted to ask because I take months off from this game, when I last played there was no havok and Auric was top dog.
Now I come back and auric spawns were nerfed and havok came? Why did they nerf Auric spawns??
tbh i wanna try my revovler build in havoc once i get used to the game again
I suspect it's a mess with them cutting out stuff and such.
i'm thinking of making changes for my veteran's curios.... should i go with 1 wound, 2 3 stims or just 1 wound, toughness, and 3 stims? I'm being conflicted over weather i should my veteran more tanky or.... well i use stamina for the deadshot perk.
idk if its ridiculous to make my veteran a tank gunner...
greetings fellow deadshot user
🤝
okay then... still.... which curios will i pick for my veteran...
normally I do 2 toughness 1 stamina
if you need 1 wound, then maybe try 1 wound, 1 stamina, 1 toughness
though eventually, once you're comfortable enough to go without wound, then I suggest 2 toughness and 1 stamina
think i'll make each curio 1 combat ability regeneration, toughness, and stamina regeneration
it's still considered stealth if there's no one left alive to spot you
sprint efficiency is typically better than stam regen
on vet
what if they just gave Vet an extra talent point
just free of charge
he gets a bonus one, as a treat
for a fast agility veteran yes but for a very tanky gunner for a veteran.... idk ... its all about being a tank that can do alot of damage....
If you want that then you should lean more into toughness stacking and various resistances
wouldn't be enough
The caveat is you can only pick faster teammate rez or mmf
why didn't your screen turn gold
Why would it
i think he assumed you were using ES
Need some help with veteran, just started playing it. What's a good build?
voice of command is imo the best ability
i recommend looking at gameslantern
they have lots of builds there
I also wanna try for the penances later to get the cosmetics
Gimme a sec
depends on what content you are doing outside of high havoc you can play most builds that let you complete penances
Oh does this happen often
yeah
the thing about vet is that it's a pretty flexible class
so there are many options depending on what you want to play
you can even go keystone-less
Well currently vets best grenade is frag
I see
this shit is so frustrating
So recommending Kraks as "Entry level" kinda sparks some discussion
kraks are ok. they have a 'fuse' timer which is annoying but it feels good for noobs.
the more you play the more you'll always use regular frags, unless going for penances or bored
demolition team on maelstrom is pretty neat you get to throw like 70-100 frags a match
all nades have a use case
it is just up to the player to set up a loadout that can cover most situations
nothing wrong in doing so running smokes or kraks
I like using kraks for annoying things
But that being said the bleeding one usually works out well
Saying this as a new player tho so mileage may vary
frag is just versatile
can make space
deal decent damage on a large aoe area
knockdown/stagger
oh my god this sucks so much ass
always some guy randomly dying past a drop-down point
where I can't run back to revive him
try to wait for the last one to jump down
Do we have thoughts on recon lasgun? I think its fun but I'm just worried it might confuse my teammates (yk, cause it sorta looks like a scab gunner)
I just wanna get the deadeye stuff from for the emperor 3
Give me yo plasma builds, please.
👍
I see
What about weapon perks/blessings?
First is the dang grenade penance
Oki
the krak one?
Hit 5 without it bouncing
oh that one is relatively easy, you just have to find an elevation point and a horde
you can do that on chasm logistratum
run something like this
but again most things are flexible
hab dreyko's prob the easiest
there's a huge overlook right at the start
if you don't get a horde there, restart
i did mine on chasm logistratum at the elevator before the first event
I like the fast firing one and mostly hipfire it. It's good not great .. but fun! Onslaught is a trap, too expensive to use with it. Take 10% rending instead.
yay
U dont actually need the no-ammo-on-crit trait if you run survivalist, Unless you're no-ammo run and probably should take something even more efficient in such case then
i mean the way my build is set up thats the best ill get
i like it bc i reload less
and my whole build is centered around like, keeping up the pressure on gunners
if that makes sense
i HATE gunners
i cant always do that is the thing
You’re already shooting them
If u need to kill them ads and hit them in the head. Dodge and hipfire shoot em if they're already shooting
i mean in theory yes but when ur dealing with everything else its nice to jsut quickly make them shut up
I guess you can use a suppression build. I see some people doing that and it works
see i tried to do this as a newbie nd it got me killed a lot cause i was too focused on killing the gunners to notice everything else around me
its not FULLY that, but yeah i mean, its mobility and anti gunner
i do kill gunners too
Ah ok. Yeah this happens. For me after like 300 hours (?) I reflex dodge/hear everything and don't have to think about it. Its like when you learn to drive you have to hyper focus but after 10 years its second nature
yeah idk ig its just a matter of perspective. i still dont have those reflexes unfortunately :(
do u guys think bleed nades or smoke nades
smoke nades i think COULD be useful here but i also doubt their overall usefulness
Smoke nades are really hard to use WELL. If you don't know, its bleed nades 1000000%
For me binding dodge to a convenient key really helped
this is generally my experience yes
i struggle with slide, is there a momentum mechanic in this game that determines when u slide vs just crouch? cause it feels like it
especially when there's enemies everywhere and I'm out of dodges I cant slide at all
There is a minimum speed for sliding
Like
4m/s
Or something like that
Negative dodges might not achieve that speed
bind crouch to a better key, by default its not great IMO
www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40kdarktide/mods/14 this mod has a dodge counter you can turn on . its a UI mod that is subtly powerful
alternate option.. https://www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40kdarktide/mods/280?tab=images but I prefer the numericui one
if you crouch you did not start sprinting
takes some muscle memory building to get used to it
same as any movetech with weapons
yes, true, but my muscle memory is tied to ctrl so i cant really change it now
I can see smoke grenades working in a pre-made group that is in VC, so you can call what you're doing and people can take advantage of it. In public games it feels like griefing a lot of the time
what do i do when i get chased by a chaos spawn and everyone else is somewhere else
i cant fight a chaos spawn by myself
do I just die
switch to melee, block and look for an opportunity to sprint away
everyone should be paying attention to the bosses
its more like a maelstorm sorta situation where there are like 20 bosses
I never heard about that many bosses, I don't think that's a winnable situation no matter how skilled you are as a Veteran

isnt tanner the dont listen to anything this guy says guy

the information in that video is objectively good
and it's nothing even debatable, just basic mechanics of the game
regardless of the efficacy, they are soloable. and learning how is worthwhile, even if you prefer a diff video/guide ^^
im sorry i hate this guys voice can u summarize
lol
tl dr just dodge and hit him
Eventually he dies
there are few attack patterns
some you can sneak attacks inbetween
others you just have to dodge
and dodgeslide the grab
no but check out my secret technique
Dodge to the right to avoid the grab
yes
They have caused shockwaves we've had to correct since- fucking ages in here
Just do not listen to anything they say
Take info from others on here as much as I hate to say it cause Reddit and the Forums are even worse
Tanner is just uh-
A very terrible person to put it softly
Not even just petty reasons like misinformation about whats good on vet, no they've said some genuine unhinged racist shit
that and was a genuine problem in the Darktide discord, so the wardens promptly did their jobs
Look im just saying the egotistical femboy is a racist? color me not surprised LMAO

Is okay in pubs, you just need to aim better to not blind your team unless they modded it away.
Yeah, I usually just bounce between Krak and Shredder, mostly Shredder because I find the most utility in that. I usually have enough single target damage on my guns.
well you know what isn't terrible? mastery system forcing me to finally play all the weapons. bayonets been fun

I mean yeah they got a big buff so they're bound to be pretty damn fun now
More or less, kraks are better early on when gear sucks so you have a hard time meleeing oggies.
admittedly not the absolute best of the best but still a top pick
