@left cape both of those are considered to be like top 5 weapons, maybe even top 3

there's ways to circumvent the reload times and the heat management. tactical reload for the plasma makes reloading (and in that case full-venting heat also) a good bit faster, and if you utilize a technique (sprint as the rotating thing screw whatever on the gun), you can make the ~10s reload speed to maybe ~7.5s

More seriously, find a Low Intensity mission, focus on having your melee weapon out most of the time (counterintuitive). Stick near teammates and pay attention to the alert-sound that plays when something is going to attack you from behind.

i'd recommend against onslaught. not only is it expensive to take, it also builds bad habits / wastes ammo

Imo isn't it okay with key automatic weapons

Id imagine the mk5 is still alright with onslaught if your goal is also mag dumping crushers

With a slower weapon no yeah, onslaught is pretty bad

and it's a talent that only meaningfully does one thing: help you magdump crushers with recon las XII or vraks mk 5
